About Bitten's SpellFlash: Priest

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Priest specs. This includes full support for all three T7 talents, including the "dot weaving" rotation with Clarity of Power (where dots are mostly unused), and so forth.

PSA: If you pick Clarity of Power as your T7 talent, you WILL NOT USE DOTS

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

Implement basic WoD 100 Shadow rotation.

No Void Entropy, no Clarity of Power, just the most basic rotation
possible, implemented and tested at 100.  Not that most people will ever
use this, but whatever, it is a good start.

Handle Glyph of Mind Harvest orb prediction.

The first time we hit a new target with this glyph, we generate three
orbs; this fixes the prediction so we know when that is going to happen,
and account for it correctly.

That should result in, eg, correctly flashing Devouring Plague on the
first cast from empty, when before we assumed only one orb was
generated...

Correctly handle enhanced shadow orbs, and enhance SW:D for
shadow priests.

We previously had a few places that used three orbs when calculating the
maximum, which led to less orb generation than it should.  We also kept
the "CD reset prevents orb generation" even if you had the perk that
removed that restriction.

Overall effect should be much better management of orb generation, which
should fix the DPS deficit that lack of support was causing.

Enable Power Word: Shield for Shadow

This is used defensively, and is the only non-intrusive defensive we
have, so is pretty important.  It flashes yellow above 50 percent, and
red below that, but is optional in both cases so that it doesn't break
the rotation.

The theory is that especially in a raid of dungeon situation, until you
are really hurt, you probably don't want to give up DPS in return for
health most of the time, but below the 50 percent line, your healers
might start to worry ... and in the world of triage, a DPS rates well
below the tanks and healers, so you should probably look after yourself
for a bit.

Update Shadow rotation to work at ~ 91

This isn't a complete shadow rework, and the 100 talents radically
change rotations, so they definitely need love, but we now have the most
basic rotation down at lower levels.

    bueno no se exactamente que programas se necesitan me eh descargado varios spellflash pero ni uno de las carpetas me han funcionado  me podrian decir cuales se necesitan para que se pueda activar el spellflash correctamente.

    If I can decipher that correctly, it seems you're having trouble with the installation.  Please refer to the installation section of the FAQ.  Particularly the first question/answer.

    I'm not getting the proper flashes when devouring plague with 3 stacks is ready, instant mind spike, and mind blast procs. It used to give me the yellow bordering around the spell. I've checked to make sure that nothing is turned off but everything is set as before.

    The flashing around the border was Blizzard's proc highlighting, which I have finally figured out how to disable again (like I did in Cata).  See the last question in the FAQ for a discussion of why I disable it.

    The addon watches for all those conditions and adjusts its priorities to match.  If there is a case where there is a better spell to use than the one that is flashing, please let me know and I will fix it.

    Is there a way to turn off flashing for certain spells? Mainly, Shadow Fiend.

    In that case, let me try to help you see the good in it.  Smile

    A well-geared shadow priest can get about 500K damage out of a shadowfiend, in ideal conditions.  The next best spell you can cast, Devouring Plague will do less than 300K for the same priest (on average).  So even if you could spam Devouring Plague at 3 stacks, it would still be worth it to summon your fiend on cooldown.  (I'm getting my numbers from simulationcraft.org - real raid experience may vary - licensing and restrictions may apply - please consult your doctor).

    I have no advice, Xemnosyst =D  You are the expert.  I was just hoping that there was some sort of option for that specific spell.  It goes off constantly, and I just don't see the good in Sending my Fiend out every time it's up.  But, then, I don't generally play Shadow Spec, and I'm new to DPS on my Priest.  I thought I would try this to help me (which it does) because of the wonderful help I get for my druid & mage dps with your SpellFlash Mods.

    this isn't meant as a critique at all because this addon has changed wow for me dramatically. i'm a bad. i click. i move with my mouse. i'm old and my reaction time is crap. but with this addon, i'm at least average.

    but what concerns me is when it gets to execute phase with sw:d, the icon lights up and that's great, but it stays bright even when sw:d is on cooldown. the problem with that is then i can't really tell when sw:d becomes available again (6 seconds i believe after i use it back to back on gcd) because the glow kinda limits me seeing the built in refresh timer.

    this is a really small thing and again, it's not a negative comment about spellflash at all, but i thought i'd mention it. i'm going to click that paypal button now so we remain friends ~

    Thanks for a great addon, but can you make the flash a little less annoying? For example, instead of flashes, frames (or borders... actually, I don't know how it's called in english), like in the original WoW, when some ability procs, such as Mind Spike. It would be great!

    Hope that you can understand what do I mean.

    That would be a question for BigRedBrent over at the SpellFlash addon itself.  I make modules that tell it when to flash which abilities, but he makes the addon that actually does the flashing on your screen.

    I guess you misunderstood me or I wrote my idea incorrectly. I don't want flashing buttons (as I wrote earlier it's little bit annoying) or like in Ovale Spell Priority (big buttons on screen). No, I just want something like highliting for button. Without pulsating, flashing, jumping or other annoying things. Can you make option, just "disable flashing effect", and it would be veeery good =)
