About Bitten's SpellFlash: Priest

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Priest specs. This includes full support for all three T7 talents, including the "dot weaving" rotation with Clarity of Power (where dots are mostly unused), and so forth.

PSA: If you pick Clarity of Power as your T7 talent, you WILL NOT USE DOTS

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Please see the FAQ before posting a question. If that doesn't address your issue, or you have a suggestion to improve this addon, please either leave a comment or create a ticket.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

Thanks for the comment.  I can add that to my to-do list.

<Edit:> That is at least working for Discipline now (along with other helpful flashing).

The last release (2.5.1) introduced flashing Halo and Cascade pretty colors depending the range to your target.  Range-to-target is not exactly straightforward to determine in an addon, and to make the matter worse I'm gathering from talking to others that Halo (and Cascade?) use a different method to determine their range than what is available to addons.

All that to say: I make no guarantees about the accuracy of the colors.  They seem to work pretty well on a target dummy, but bosses with large hitboxes or that float in the air may cause issues.  I'd love to hear some feedback from anyone who uses it and pays attention to their Halo/Cascade numbers compared SpellFlash's colors.

I have this add on it works again but now attonment doesnt. It seems like only 1 of the 2 will work . Both work indivually but when both are installed only one seems to work.

  • #35

Since they are separate modules, you will have to switch between them in the options for SpellFlash using the drop-down.  This is less than ideal, I know, but it comes from when this addon also flashed things for Discipline, which it may do again at some point.

Everytime I log on it says "This Module has not been updated to work with the lastest expansion: SpellFlash: SPriest (SpellFlash_SPriest)

I have installed this addon,  I can not find one for shadow priest in  the search button, why am I always getting this message when I log on?

  • #33

"SpellFlash: SPriest" is not this addon.  This is "Bitten's SpellFlash: Priest".  You should uninstall that one, because it does not work in MoP, and if you have not already done so you should install this one.

I have this installed it did work before. I have nothing working for shadow priest at the moment.

Is this add on still working?

  • #31

Yes, it should still be working.  What changed on your system?

bueno no se exactamente que programas se necesitan me eh descargado varios spellflash pero ni uno de las carpetas me han funcionado  me podrian decir cuales se necesitan para que se pueda activar el spellflash correctamente.

  • #27

    From google tranlate:

well not exactly what programs are needed eh I downloaded several spellflash but not one of the folders I have worked I could say what needed to be able to activate the spellflash correctly.

If I can decipher that correctly, it seems you're having trouble with the installation.  Please refer to the installation section of the FAQ.  Particularly the first question/answer.

I'm not getting the proper flashes when devouring plague with 3 stacks is ready, instant mind spike, and mind blast procs. It used to give me the yellow bordering around the spell. I've checked to make sure that nothing is turned off but everything is set as before.

  • #24

The flashing around the border was Blizzard's proc highlighting, which I have finally figured out how to disable again (like I did in Cata).  See the last question in the FAQ for a discussion of why I disable it.

The addon watches for all those conditions and adjusts its priorities to match.  If there is a case where there is a better spell to use than the one that is flashing, please let me know and I will fix it.

Is there a way to turn off flashing for certain spells? Mainly, Shadow Fiend.

    Thank you, in advance =D
