About Bitten's SpellFlash: Shaman

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Shaman specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Please see the FAQ before posting a question. If that doesn't address your issue, or you have a suggestion to improve this addon, please either leave a comment or create a ticket.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

I hope you weren't too dissapointed!  There's not much to it.  Let me know if you have ideas to improve it.  Healing by nature doesn't mix as well with SpellFlash as dpsing or tanking, but there are still a few small things that can be helpful to flash.

Works awesome! Just the way I had hoped. Windshear flashes when I need to interrupt, buffs flash when they need to be renewed, love it! Thank you so  much :)

For the German Client, the weapon enhancement flashes even if the translations are correct. So i edited the Localization.lua and just overwrote with the same translation, now it works!

  • #69

So you typed in the exact some thing that shows up on the localizations page, and then it worked?  Hmmm ...

For the past few days SpellFlash does not seem to be registering that I have weapon enhancments applied to MH and OH weapons. The Flametongue and Windfury buttons stay lit whether the buffs are applied or not. Is this a bug introduced/caused by the last patch?

This problem has been on-going for a couple pf months as far as i can recall after each patch I cross my fingers and hope its been fixed but it is still there Frown

This is a real shame as all other chars use this spell flash addon and all work seemlessly this is the only problem as far as I can tell with the Shaman spellflash set everything else works fine.

I even tried disabling all my other addons except the ones required to instigate the Shaman spellflash set, just in case something was conflicting but the same problem occured Cry

This is an amazing addon and I love the way it works, and enjoy using it, please can you fix the problem with the Shaman Flametongue & Windfury weapon buffs, thanks ../hugs

First of all, I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to respond.  Your comment fell through the cracks during the end of my semester (I'm back in school!  Yay?), then I lost track of it during my vacation.  But on to the real issue ...

Do you play WoW using an English client?  If not, are there correct translations for your language on the localizations page?

I've downloaded Shaman addon with curse client. I have library, shaman and spellflash directory. But i see nothing in game, nor even flash or anything. It seems that its not working. What am i doing wrong?

    What spec do you play?

They are still working for me.  Do you use an English client?  If not, does the tranlation of "Flametongue" and "Windfury" look correct on the localizations page?

I am use Spellflash Shman with my ele skill and it works fine, bit when I want to use my second specc enhancer i will not work for an ehancement rotation. am i doing something wrong?

    thanks in advance

It should be working.  First make sure it is turned on in the options, and if it is, see if there is a Lua error you could report.  Some basic instructions for finding a Lua error are here.

Man, ptBR section you have to fix the line

    L["Flametongue"] = " Labaredas"

removing the space before the word Labaredas, here is an image:

the translation that I sent you earlier already contained this "mistake" but was not giving problems so far.
