About Bitten's SpellFlash: Warrior

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Warrior specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

  • Protection: The rotation was not being presented sequentially. Changed the rotation to be very sequential.
  • Fury: No changes.
  • Arms: No changes.

Version 60000.1.12

  • Protection: Re-worked the entire rotation scheme, incorporationg the 6.0.3 changes. Previous release was errant in that it flashed when not available and did not provide correct rotation.
  • Fury: Re-worked the rotation and provided more detail criteria to assist in the Rage pool related idle times.
  • Arms: No changes.

Version 60000.1.11

  • Sorry, this ended up being a re-release of 10 since I forgot to commit the work.

Version 60000.1.10

  • Protection: No changes.
  • Fury: Corrected the Rage Pool calculations for rotations. Would not flash at all when half rage.
  • Arms: No changes.

  • Protection: No changes
  • Fury: No Changes
  • Arms: Corrected the Flashing when ability was not ready.

Version 60000.1.7

  • First release with Protection enabled. Also modified Fury to conincide with the 6.0.3 nerfs/changes. Arms was not changed, same functionality as 60000.1.6.
  • Protection: Focused mainly on single target with Sudden Death Talent. Shield Barrier and Shield Block will have small flashes indicating they are available.
  • Cooldowns are not currently flashed. Taunt and Mocking Banner are not currently flashed.
  • Fury: Rotation changed somewhat -> Need to stay Enraged so Bloodthirst is the go to. Sometimes it is necessary to wait until it procs. Basic rotation is
  • to Bloodthirst, Berserker Rage, Wild Strike, Raging Blow, Bloodthirst, Raging Blow, Wild Strike, and then use Dragon Roar/Storm Bolt and Execute as it
  • comes available. This will vary slightly based on the stacks of Raging Blow. The flashes should follow this rotation.
  • Arms: No changes in this release but I am aware of flashing issues when the ability is not ready. I will address that next.

  • Arms and Protection: Completely disabled (temporarily) so they stop spewing errors to the chat log.

  • Protection: Now waits up to .5 seconds for a rage generating ability instead of using a damage ability.

    Excellent.  If you ever find times that you think you should be pressing one of those red border buttons but something else is flashing, let me know :).  (For a single-target boss fight, of course.)

    For some reason just the other day while running fury (I only run fury and prot... prot has never worked for me in regards to spellflash) Execute stopped flashing all together and Brutal Strike only flashes sometimes. It seems to me that the really bright flash that I assumed was blizz's own UI flash has gone away from these abilities also.

    Thank you for the report.  I fixed that issue with Execute.

    You were right in thinking the bright flash was Blizzard's own UI.  Only in the last couple days did I figure out how to turn those off again (it changed in MoP).  The execute problem actually existed for a long time - but nobody reported it I assume because it was too hard to tell which flahsing was from SpellFlash and which was from Blizzard!

    I'm not sure which ability you mean by "Brutal Strike."  If there is still a problem after you update, please let me know.

    Thank you very much. I understand now. Thank you for fixing the execute flash and more so for making such awesome addons. I really enjoy running it. It wont be hard to live without the UI flash :P

    <Edit:> Proc highlighting is back on, but now it uses a plain red border instead of the normaly flashy one.

    It would seem that both execute and raging blow are now flashing via your addon, but I am still not seeing blizzard's own UI flash on either ability. Is there some way that I can turn the standard UI flash on while running your addon? Those two abilities being top priority, it is nice to have the double flash on them both. Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    My apologies. How embarrassing, what I meant to say was raging blow. I am sorry. I am checking now to see if they are both working. As I am sure the execute flash is, I will check raging blow also.

    Good question.  First I have to get internet at my new apartment - which is proving to be difficult Frown.  Fury works.   Check the FAQ for my progress as I update Bitten's SpellFlash modules for 5.0.4.
