About Blizzard Raid Frame - Indicators

Indicators
Configurable indicators for Blizzard Raid Frames showing time of buffs/debuffs on all units in the raid.

There are 9 indicators for each raid member, one on each corner, one on each side and one in the middle.

Indicators can be configured to show any buffs/debuffs of your choice and you can configure several buffs/debuffs in the same indicator. Some simple options lets you select to show only if the buff is missing, only cast by you, stack sizes and more.

As an added bonus there's also an option to turn off the standard buff/debuff icons.

Examples
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f194/Szandos/Indicators%20Addon/Singleframe.jpg
Example of indicators on a unit. Left lower corner shows remaining time of my Rejuvenation, center botton shows stack size and time remaining of my Lifebloom, bottom right shows time left of my Regrowth.

Example of indicators in a raid. The big red dot on Stormfront is an indicator showing he's missing Mark of the Wild or Blessing of Kings.
Also show in this picture is: Blizzard Raid Frame - Raid Icons

Another example, using icons as well as stack size coloring of the Earth Shield buff.

Cconfiguration
The configuration can be reached through the standard addon options (ESC -> Interface -> Addons -> Raid Frame Indicators) or by typing:
/indicators config

Rejuvenation

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f194/Szandos/Indicators%20Addon/Kings.png
Show when Blessing of Kings or Mark of the Wild is missing on the unit

Other options

  • Update Frequency - The frequence which the indicators update. Lower means more precise indicators, but slightly higher load on the system
  • Indicator Font - The font used for an indicator
  • Show Icons - Show/Hide the standard buff/debuff icons
  • Enable - Enable/Disable the addon

Indicator options

  • Buffs/Debuffs - The list of buffs/debuffs to show in the indicator. Make sure this corresponds exactly to the name of the buff/debuff as it is called when it's on the unit (you can see the name if you cast the spell on yourself and it's not necessarily the same as the spell name). You can also use any of the words "Magic/Poison/Disease/Curse" to show any debuffs of that kind in that indicator. You can also use the spell ID of the spell instead of the name. It is also possible to use "pvp" to check if a unit is pvp flagged.
  • Mine only - Only look for buffs cast by yourself. Can be used for example to track only hots cast by yourself
  • Show only if missing - Only show the indicator if all the buff/debuff specified are missing. Will be shown with a "blob" instead of numbers
  • Show on me only - Only show the indicator on yourself. Can be used to track missing self buffs or procs on yourself
  • Show text counter - Will show a number counting remaining time
  • Show decimals - Will show remaining time with a decimal for times < 10 s
  • Use stack size coloring - Will color the counter based on the stack size (>=3 green, 2 yellow, 1 red)
  • Color by remaining time - Will use the selected coloring for time > 5 s, yellow for 3-5 s, red for < 3 s remaining time
  • Show stack size - Will show the stack size if the buff/debuff can stack
  • Show icon - Will show the spell icon

V.1.19 - Bugfix: Removed reference to AceEvent

Oddly, the version 1.19 .zip file does not have a libs\AceEvent-3.0 directory even though it is present in the embeds.xml.  Is there a typo causing a problem during Packaging?

I get this error upon login:

Message: ...e\AddOns\RaidFrameIndicators\RaidFrameIndicators.lua:4: Usage: EmbedLibrary(addon, libname, silent, offset): 'libname' - Cannot find a library instance of "AceEvent-3.0".

    ...idFrameIndicators\Libs\AceAddon-3.0\AceAddon-3.0.lua:192: in function `EmbedLibraries'
    ...idFrameIndicators\Libs\AceAddon-3.0\AceAddon-3.0.lua:159: in function `NewAddon'
    ...e\AddOns\RaidFrameIndicators\RaidFrameIndicators.lua:4: in main chunk

Locals: (*temporary) = "Usage: EmbedLibrary(addon, libname, silent, offset): 'libname' - Cannot find a library instance of "AceEvent-3.0"."

Edit: OK, Ace-Event-3.0 was added in version 1.12 but the actual library was never included in any of the packages from 1.12 until 1.19.

Thanks, I removed the reference in the latest version.

Things don't stop working unless something changed, however, it's not always obvious that something has changed. Usually when this happens then it's because some other addon loading a different version of the Ace3 libs or that the addon isn't installed correctly, but if you have disabled all other addons and it was working before then it shouldn't be that.

Only thing I can think of is that there's some error in the settings file. Did you change any settings in the addon? Try deleting the settings file and see if that helps (make a backup first). It's in <wow folder>/wtf/account/<account name>/SavedVariables/RaidFrameIndicators.lua

Let me know how it turns out.

Still not working. Used the Blizzard fix to find see if there is any correupt files. Deleted WTF folder. Nothing has solved this problem... I miss this addon :(

Try the latest version (1.20) and see if that helps.

Hi. I downloaded this addon via Curse and it shown in the ingame addons list in the login screen. However it doen't show in the Interface Addons UI, and typing /indicators config   does not bring anything up. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Either the addon isn't installed correctly it is conflicting with another addon.

First make sure it is correctly installed, see http://www.curse.com/faqs/wow-addons

If that doesn't help, disable all your other addons and see if that gets it working.

  • #100

I am also having the same issue. Ive tried removing the addon and re-installing it but no joy. Disabled all other addons and yet its still not loading. It was working for me like 4 days ago and now its not. Nothing has changed since then. Any more help?

While doing some more testing to try to narrow down the bug, I found a workaround (and probably the source of the bug). If you turn off "Color by remaining time" then the problem goes away. I believe this may be due to a recent change to Beacon of Light, as it no longer has a duration. It looks like the NIL reference may simply be due to that. In any case, it now works flawlessly for me. Very useful addon - thanks!

  • #95

I think the same error would occur on any auras without a duration in combination with "color by remaining time". Thanks for the bug report, I fixed it in the new version.

I always get an message stating that my addons are experiencing a large number of errors...

I hope you can fix this, as I'd like to use this addon. Looking at the debug display reveals that this addon is the only one at cause. The same error occurs continuously at a rate of approximately 10/sec. Here is the message:

Just found this addon and love it.  These timers are critical to me as I'm a druid healer and  I can replace Grid or Vuhdo now.

I'd like to make feature request.  I know this addon focuses on timers but it would be awesome if it did class colors as well.  I know I can change the bar colors to class colors by default but I want the bars to remain green and the names to be class colored.  If I class color the bars then some classes will make the timers hard to see. (font color may be similar to class color)  Also, some people might like an option for the bar color to fade from green to yellow to orange to red as a players health is decreased.  Just some suggestions, I hope they are well recieved.  Thanks!

Thank you for your post. I actually made this addon when I was playing a druid healer, had to keep track of the timers.

Even though I'm sympathetic to your request I don't think that functionality belongs in this addon. Also it is a bit tricky to do since poking on the standard frames easily causes taint issues.

It is possible I can add some options to make the timers more clear, perhaps a wider shadow or something, I will try and see what I can come up with. I am showing icons on all my hots, that way I know what background color thy have and can adjust the color of the timer to fit.

I've recently rolled a Shammy and I was curious if there is any way to show indicators for the targets of Chain Heal? Since they don't get "buffed" as such, it could probably be achieved by parsing the combat log. Thanks!

  • #90

The combat log doesn't show the targets until you finish the cast, at which point it is a bit too late to be of any use, so unfortunately there's not much to do. I know there has been an addon for Grid which made a best guess to what targets would be hit, not sure if it's still being developed.
