About Buff Fever

What is Buff Fever?

Buff Fever is a proc and buff notification for all classes. It originated from Mage Fever to allow for any class to enter desired spells to track. Any buff, proc, or debuff you want to monitor can be tracked by simply entering the spell ID.

Each spell being monitored can be resized and placed how ever you want.

How do I use and configure Buff Fever?

"/bfever" will bring up the Options Panel.

If it is first time use, Buff Fever will come with a single buff already included. This is simply an example buff, which will allow you to configure it to work. To configure the buff, select it and choose the correct options.

To add a spell to be monitored, type in the ID or Name of the spell in the Spell ID/Name box and click the "+" button. The spell ID and name can be found by searching for the spell on WoWhead or any other database site. To remove a spell, select it and click "-" button.

Target - Defines whether to check for the spell on your target or yourself. Buff Type - Defines whether the spell is considered a buff or a debuff. Show - If checked, the notification will show when detected. Otherwise will stay hidden Timer - Will show a status bar on the time left of the spell Count - If the spell can stack, defines whether you want to see how many there are or not. Mine - Will notify you off the spell only if it belongs to you. Color - Defines the color of the spell's bar. Scale, Height, Width - Configures the layout of the bar.

Show - Click to show all the frames to help configure them. Lock - Will lock the frames and prevent them from being moved.

2.0: Code revamp. Compatible with Cataclysm Beta. Removed need to define BuffType.

1.4: Fixed buffs showing when "mine" is selected yet the buff isn't yours.

1.3: Changed bar textures.

1.2: Add support to track spell's if they are the player's only.

1.1: Changed bar visuals.

1.0: Initial Relese

    After installing this mod I get an error message at startup:

    Date: 2010-08-15 14:54:18
    ID: 1
    Error occured in: Global
    Count: 1
    Message: ..\AddOns\BuffFever\BuffFever.lua line 96:
    table index is nil
    Debug:
    [C]: ?
    BuffFever\BuffFever.lua:96: BuffFever_OnEvent()
    [string "*:OnEvent"]:1:
    [string "*:OnEvent"]:1

    There is no way to add spell ids in the configuration menu. From the description it sounds like there should be [+] and [-] buttons but I can't see them. The only button on the configuration menu is "OK" =(

    Also, checking the "Color" tick box option gives the following error:

    Date: 2010-08-15 14:56:19
    ID: 2
    Error occured in: Global
    Count: 1
    Message: ..\AddOns\BuffFever\BuffFever.lua line 671:
    attempt to index local 'Proc' (a nil value)
    Debug:
    (tail call): ?
    [C]: ?
    BuffFever\BuffFever.lua:671: BFgetvalue()
    BuffFever\BuffFever.lua:433: BuffFeverSelectColor()
    [string "*:OnMouseUp"]:1:
    [string "*:OnMouseUp"]:1

    I really want this mod to work since I loved the functionality mage fever provided for mages, and want that same kind of notification window for my other classes.

    Thanks

    I have downloaded this mod, and I do like it. As a boomchicken is there a way to get it to be able to track the lunar and solar eclipses?

    seems like a really nice, ive really liked mage fever in the past. atm i cant get this one working though. the spell ID box does not come up on my death knight, this seems really nice for tracking rime and killing machine procs.

    What do you mean it won't come up? Is it not showing at all on the options screen?

    It'd be great if you could add custom bars, only thing that keeps me from using this is the ugly bars :

    Don't know much about addon building, but it shouldn't be too much work adding the custom barskins that are in nearly all addons now right?

    Add the ability to track spell's which belong to only you.

    Just realized I uploaded the images for 1.1 but forgot to upload the actual addon. Sorry about this. If you see different bars, this is why. I will get it uploaded as soon as I'm able to get the file. (At work and it is on my personal computer)
