Addon Support Statement

Hello everyone. I'm no longer actively playing World of Warcraft (and haven't for many months). I'm looking for someone to take over maintenance of my addons. If you're interested, and have at least one released addon, send me a message at neotron+curse@gmail.com

Addon Description

Bulk mail reception made really easy. This addon allows you to selectively pick mails to open from the inbox, open all mails with money or open all items.

Key Features

There are many bulk email openers available to choose from. However Bulk Mail Inbox has several unique features:

  • Shows a dialog with all items and money in your mailbox.
  • Allows you to take individual items even if they were all sent in one email.
  • You can mark multiple items to take make without taking all.
  • Allows easy comparision of items in the mail list with items you're currently using (just hold shift down while hovering the items).

Bulk Mail Inbox 4.0 beta

The 4.0 beta is a conversion to Ace3 and other modern libraries. In addition it has several improvements and fixes as outlined below:

  • Inbox pagination and filtering.
  • Clicking on a column header now sorts that header. Before clicking on any header just rotated the sorting to a new column.
  • Sorting is reversed if you click on the header which currently is sorted.
  • Better placement of the tooltip (now sit nexts to the frame that opened it)
  • Pressing and releasing the shift key while hovering an item will now properly show/hide the comparision window.
  • Fixed opening of mails is now throttled to prevent errors and as a result opening a lot of mails is now much better.
  • The list of items is updated during auto opening emails.

    I just tried experimenting with downloading the previous version, 3.0.2, to see if it still retains the 'Take Selected' function reliably. So far, it seems to still work just fine. It's not as flashy graphics-wise, but it gets the job done.

    Find it under Downloads, Release 3.0.2, added 10/18/2008

    Might be a better alternative to waiting for an update.

    Ah, thanks for that Newt - yes, v. 3.0.2 does seem to still work (mostly - throws some errors on login, but seems to function after that). Hopefully author can compare the working code with the older version to the new code and find out where the problem lies.

    Still not snagging all selected items with "Take Selected" option ... is this AddOn still monitored? Anyone know of a working replacement?

    Dhedbor can you confirm that you're still reading the comments? I'd be interested to know if anyone is NOT having the issues with "take selected" and whether or not there is any theory about why it isn't working. I'm not trying to be critical of the mod just wondering if it is still being supported.

    is there a feature to autorefresh mailbox after 60sec? or can i combine this with 'postal'?

    Nevermind, im using both 'postal' and 'bulkmailinbox' at the same time, it auto refreshes.

    There is still some issues when selecting specific items that it randomly "misses" some of the selected items (or well, usually misses about half of them).

    I mark 10 stacks of herbs and hit "take selected" i get 6 stacks, and then have to re-select the remaining 4 and hit "take" again, this time getting 2 of them and having to do it yet again to get the last 2.

    I found that if you enable both 'POSTAL' and 'BulkMailInbox' at the same time, you get the best of both worlds. To make sure you get all the mail and dont miss anything, i click on the 'postal' OPENALL button on the left, and on the right screen you monitor with 'BulkMailInbox' of what was expired/successfull/returned/newmail. I was surprised that both worked in conjunction.

    is there a command to click 'GET ALL MAIL' from the mailbox?

    say something like /CLICK GETALL ?

    so i dont have to manually click that button

    Awesome, but very, very buggy. Bulk Mail breaks other open windows, most especially crafting windows. I can't craft large amounts of items at once anymore as the crafting window breaks at seemingly random times.

    I also can't select multiple items and open them at the same time.

    Why does the BulkMail Inbox window have different font sizes for some items? And when it's opening mails, the size [and order] of the items randomly change.

    Whenever I log onto a character and first open the mailbox, the BulkMail Inbox window opens, but nothing works, I also can't take items out of the mailbox the normal way [shift-clicking the mail, or opening the mail and clicking the items]. It also blocks the Send button from sending mail, and doesn't open my bags.

    If I then close the Bulk Mail Inbox window and click the mailbox again, it comes up, brings up my bags and works until I relog.

    I was sooooo happy to find this addon! The only "bug" that I have an issue with is when I select "take all", several items were not found, and i lost the items. My husband had the same issue with his toon. I removed the addon, which saddened me. :( Great concept though!!

    I also encountered this last night, I restricted the list to "elem" and hit Take All and one of the mails for an auction win a stack of Elementium Bars got marked as read and was then empty and not deleted, but I did not get the stack in my inventory. This is very harsh when I have an AH characters that goes through many hundreds of mails a day.
