About Calendar Inviter
Please, report any bug/problem as curse comment or curseforge ticket.
this will help. thanks.
What is this?
-------------
This is nothing more than the name tells.
Another panel, that opens near the blizz calendar event panel, that gives you more information about the players.
Before forming raid, u can know:
-who is online and who is not (instant for guildies and friends, periodically performs whois on offguild players)
-who is on an alt (checks guild note and friendlist, supports auldlangsyne addon)
-which role (tank ranged melee heal) is each invited player (players are marked manually, this marking is saved thru sessions, supports multiple specs)
-how many u have for each role for the selected raid size (10/25)
-who is already in your raid
-history of signups (sorted, most recent last)
-who is signed, but has a low rank, so doesnt have spot granted
-who signed in the last X minutes (configurable)
It does support both invite-events and guild-wide-events (guild events tested just a bit)
If you are not event owner, the apply buttons has no effect, but you can still invite ppl.
How can i use it?
-----------------
U can just install this and use it pasively, just doing the thing the way u are used. You will just have some extra info on the side.
Else, as raid leader, there are 2 ways of using it:
-the first is to check the players you choosen and then press APPLY. This will mark other players as STANDBY, and will let you do a invite from blizz calendar
-the second is to perform invite within the CalendarInvite itself. the only difference (apart from addon beign bugged in converting to raid) is that this time addon will whisper alts announcing invite
There are known bugs?
---------------------
Many. More than bugs, they are things i didnt fixed, coz the software was ment to remain private.
Most are relative to frame behaviour, some to raid inviter, prob the offguild whois checks can also be better.
Hope making it public will improve this.
Does this addon require a widescreen?
-------------------------------------
No, but its designed for a widescreen display-ratio.
I developed it for myself and my guildleader. Both have 24", so i did it like this.
The frame is clamped to screen (which means it wont move out of the view area), but probably you will get some frames overlapping.
Solutions could be movable frame, scale blizz calendar, move frame over the calendar or.... buy a new monitor ;)
Why it was so badly configurable?
--------------------------------
Coz at start i developed it for my guild only.
Now it comes with full ingame gui for the options, so it a bit more user-frienldy
some stuff is still hardcoded so it suits my needs (like the brackets in auldlangsyne comments)
- guild alts: ALL alts must be tagged in guild description with the alt pattern (default prefix "Alt: ")
addon will strip pattern, then pick the first word as mainchar name
- friends with auldlangsyne addon: must set a note for each friend with main closed with round brackets, like "(Nameofmain)"
- friends with blizzard notes: must set a note for each friend with main name with no brackets or whatever

Comments
must think a bit bout this...
there are no problems with hidng spec into officer notes, just must figure a way regarding WHEN they must be read.
if i read these on load and convert em into calendarinvite database, i should check for them every boot / change? or the ones stored in CI should prevail ?
Would it be possible to add some support for also auto setting roles from reading the officer notes, and partially configurable? Due to blizz's very limited number of characters to use in the notes I've been going with
@CharacterName[M/O]
I'd think atleast using the bracket the addon shouldn't have a problem telling where the name ends and the spec starts even though there's no space in between, since bracket can't be used as part of a character name anyways.
will do my best
pleas report with a detailed description of the problem, will fix it
I noticed a problem where, if you are choosing the roles for a character, and someone logs on, the list will adjust and set the role for the incorrect person. This seems to affect the character that was above the one you were attempting to change. Also, it would be nice to leave characters in the list after setting their role until manually reloading the list. It seems the bug I mentioned above affects newly added roles as well. Once the role is selected, the addon attempts to remove them from the list and the same problem occurs if the role selection dialog was not closed fast enough before the list updates.
I'm only guessing but I think the updates are based on the numerical index of the character being updated in the list and, when the list changes, the character who now occupies that index is being updated.
but when someone logs, the array is re-sorted (coz online ppl are always before the offline ones)... and all indexes are reassigned. this probably causes the mess.
will try to bugfix asap
Incredibly annoying, continues to do it until you are fast enough to open the calendar find them and remove them from the list before the /who window pops up.
am working on it to avoid this (which shouldn happen according to blizz api).
cant see any comment/tickets from your side, neither am i aware of any bug.
regarding elgustav notes (which we discussed via pm), am still pondering on how making the apply button work best.
the only other update is making tentative players optinal, which is done, but not yet public.
so....
asking for updates, heavily implying there are tons of uncovered requests (when there are none) is not nice, and not the kind of behaviour i am expecting as reward when developing such stupid, but still time consuming project.
i do what i can to make this addon that i developed for MYSELF enjoyable to as much ppl as possible. this doesnt mean i will allow anyone saying me i make ppl wait for THREE MONTHS when i answered ALL requests in few hours.
so, again, what are u waiting for?
For players who accept, as RL I would either chose to confirm them, put them on standby or if I knew they shouldn't even go on standby I would set them as "out". However someone set as "out" automatically reverts to standby when you click apply if they are not selected. Imo if they are set to "out" and not selected they should remain as "out" and if I decide to take them on as standby I would manually do this through the default blizz event window.
Additionally if a player is set to tentative the addon should not change that status. As there is no guarantee they are available they shouldn't be set as confirmed (if selected) or put on standby (when not selected). Perhaps I am pessimistic but I prefer to treat a tentative player as a decline until they change their mind as you can't manage a raid group based on players who may or may not be online. In that sense I would prefer to have the tentative players handled by the addon in the same way as the declines i.e. by not being changed status by the add-on at all and not allowing them to display in the player list in the addon main window. For me, that main window list should only be for players set to Accept, Confirm, Standby or Out i.e. players who have accepted the invite at some point and are definitely able to attend. Of course these are just personaly opinions and are perhaps different to the way you view each invite status.
I also noticed an issue with alt names a month or so ago. If a player is invited to a raid on his main but currently playing on an alt at the time of invites it will whisper the alt to log over. However if the alt is invited to the raid and the player is currently playing on his main at the time of invites it does not whisper the main telling them to relog as you would hope.
Thanks for making this addon anyway, even with the problems I've mentioned it's still very useful :)
