About Cancelator - Mass Auction Cancel Utility
Cancelator
UPDATE: October 16, 2010: Cancelator is no longer automated. A hardware event IS required for each cancellation. The filters still function the same way they did before, except now the button you'd press once before to trigger the cancellation of all auctions, has to be hit for each auction you wish to cancel. The filters will allow you to go "click happy" on the button to cancel the auctions one by one that fit the specified filter.
Cancelator is a utility to help mass cancel auctions. Provides options to allow users to cancel all of their auctions, or filter canceling by auction item name, duration, or price.
Cancelator provides an easy to use side panel style frame on the Auction's Frame that allows the user to define certain filter options and cancel those auctions. Can also mass cancel all auctions!
Features
- Cancel All - Will cancel all auctions, regardless of other settings. This will remove any and all auctions the user still has. (Overrides other filters)
- Cancel No Bids - Will cancel all auctions that do not have a high bidder (works with other filters)
- Cancel Duration - Will cancel auctions at a set duration (short, medium, long, very long - works with other filters)
- Cancel Specific Item - Will cancel a given item (will work with other filters)
Any one or combination of the last 3 filters can be used. The addon is designed to to tested your current setup with a hierarchy flag based algorithm to work easily with any combination of flags set!
Compatibility
- Works with normal Auction House
- Works with Auctioneer and Auctioneer Advanced. Does not interfere with EasyCancel module, or any other module of auctioneer
- Works with Auctionator
- Works with Quick Auctions 3
Other Notes
- The addon does NOT load when the game starts up, but when the Auction House is open for the first time. Once open, you will see a console message. Once the addon has been initialized once, it does not need to be initialized again until the user logs back in.
- To Load the addon, open up the AH and on your auctions tab, click "Show Cancelator" on the top right hand side of the window.
- The addon also has console based commands that are available once the Auction House is opened. Use "/cncl help" to see the list.
Future Ideas
- Save current profiles of filter layouts
- Implement some sort of "undercut auction cancel" options if feasible
- Find a way to automate... *cough* Blizzard hates us! *cough*
Comments
If you have any ideas on how to improve this addon, or would like to report bugs, then do so in the comments! I will check them regularly and respond!
- Thanks to Kandoko from Auctioneer for help with this
Cancelator Version 1.2.3 Change Log - June 26, 2011
1.) Updated TOC Interface Version
2.) Adjusted code to hopefully help solve a disconnect problem. When the cancel button is clicked too many times, it can cause the user to become disconnected. I've added in a limit to how fast auctions can be canceled. The button can still be spammed, but the code will ignore attempting to cancel auctions until the limit is each. Right now an auction can be canceled every 150 milliseconds. If this still causes a disconnect, it might have to be adjusted higher. So please report any re-occurring disconnects.

For those looking for tricks and ways to script the buttons into automation: this is exactly how we got this painful ban in the first place. A WoW insider contributor decided to extend Quick Auctions to start simulating button presses to make another add-on that automatically re-ran auction checks until you got undercut, then canceled those auctions and reposted at a lower rate. This blatant violation of the rules led Blizz decide it was easier to outlaw all batch operations rather than continue to try to block the cheaters.
Even worse, those authors should've known this, because they were just lifting a trick that the Auctioneer folks came up with but deleted after Blizzard advised them this was a rules violation. These latest authors knew they were making a tool to facilitate cheating, but they went on with it anyway. (It didn't help that WoW Insider ran a highly irresponsible post about how great it was.) All these people knew they were trying to work around intentionally imposed safeguards, but they did it anyway. Now WoW is a little bit worse than it used to be. Those people were jerks.
Trying to come up with ways around this new restriction is, again, cheating. Blizzard has decided all auction actions require a click. Please don't go trying to find workarounds to the hardware event requirements. One button press now means one posting, bid or cancelation. It's the law. Just because you can find a way to break it doesn't mean you should.
Don't be the jerk who gets us even tougher restrictions.
Nice story, but there's nothing wrong with mousewheel binds.
this would be great to know cause i can macro something like this
/click promptbutton1
and assign it to Shift+ mouse wheel scroll down.
/script CancelAuction_Button_OnClick();
this could only be called after you open up the AH for the first time since Cancelator is not loaded until you open the AH.
that for the macro. it safes me a ton of time :P
I was looking for such a useful tool for a long time. Short feedback: it works very well with Auctionator - and if the issue with overriding one of the Quick Auctions 3 buttons (described below by JLBurnett04) is solved this addon will be one of my favorites :-)
Thumbs up!
