About Candy Buckets (Hallow's End)

Mists of Pandaria candy buckets will be added with an update as soon as possible.

Very simple to use addon to help you hunt down all the candy!

Open the world map and the icons will show on any inn that your character can visit for candy, yum! After stealing it, the icon will be hidden, indicating that you've been there and are now a wanted person.

It couldn't get simpler, so get going!

Optional addons to get:
- TomTom
- TomTomLite
With one of the above you can click on the world map icon to plot a course, how neat, isn't it? If you use TomTom (not Lite) you can shift/ctrl/alt+click the icon to plot that location and all other non-visited once for a brainless road trip!

Optimal TomTom settings:
» Waypoint Arrow:
+ Enable floating waypoint arrow
+ Automatically set to next closest waypoint
+ Allow closest waypoint to be outside current zone
» Minimap:
+ Enable minimap waypoints
» World Map:
+ Enable world map waypoints

The complete "Candy Buckets" series:
- Candy Buckets (Hallow's End)
- Candy Buckets (Lunar Festival: Elders)
- Candy Buckets (Midsummer Fire Festival)

1.1.5:
- Updated map library and made it compatible with Mapster, along with other small changes.

1.1.4:
- Added phased buckets at Shrine of Seven Stars, Shrine of the Two Moons and Kun-Lai Summit.
- Moved bucket a bucket in Desolace to Stonetalon Mountain at Northwatch Expedition Base Camp (the proper location).
- Added bucket in Arathi Highlands at Refuge Point.

1.1.3:
- Added missing Horde nodes in Pandaria -thanks Phanx!

1.1.2.4:
- Improved how quests are flagged as completed, no need to cache all the quests we've ever done, only need to clear out visited once. This still needs some work, still better than last implementation.
- Fixed an issue with Aldor and Scryer, their nodes should appear as Neutral so you just have to go to the one you can visit.

1.1.2.3:
- Added support for TomTom to queue waypoints and display every unvisited location at once. You can do this by holding down shift/ctrl/alt and clicking a node, that note will be focused then the nearest nodes will be automatically selected. (If not double check your waypoint arrow settings, that it's set to automatically pick nearest waypoint.)

1.1.2.2:
- Fixed a phasing issue causing some icons not to show for some players, this should now be resolved.

1.1.2.1:
- Manually added Alliance/Neutral buckets in Pandaria. I do not have a Horde available to get the rest, simply wait a couple of days for Wowhead to display the data and I shall add it to the addon as soon as possible. If you wish to help take a look at my comment here: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/candy-buckets#c41

1.1.2:
- Minor database structure updates.

1.1.1:
- Minor updates, changing how this works internally and together with the other "Candy Bucket" series addons.

1.1:
- MoP TOC bump and database structure update. So far no new places have been added.

1.0.3:
- General performance tweaks, still got some way to go but things are going better. Working on my map POI framework, looking good so far! :)
- Added Cartographer for waypoint support.

1.0.2:
- Built my own map POI framework, using it in this mod as well like a beta test. Automatically updates the map POI icons and supports TomTom and TomTomLite for click-to-go navigation, easy to use!

1.0.1:
- Added map icons that show the buckets you have missed (limited to your own faction and neutral inns). See you next year! :)

1.0:
- Initial release.

dont show buckets of achievs I won last year.

    XD

This makes me curious tough, can you actually "talk" to the buckets from last year? Some people reported they couldn't loot these buckets because the game still remembers them looting the buckets last year, so gotta know if you are one of those nomadbr.

When you go to some bucket you haven't visited this year, can you talk to it and if so open your map and check if there is an icon showing up. Don't use Carbonite, alt+m if you do, and if you use some other map addon tell me its name so I can add support for it.

Sorry for being slow with helping you, I hope you see this comment. It will help a lot. In case you see the quest in the world but not on the default map then tell me the location and I shall reply with a follow-up comment to help locate the problem.

Well, all of a sudden it worked. Don't know what happened. Nice work.

There is a issue with Mapster that I fixed for the next version, I'll upload it soon as well.

Not sure what is going on but the addon is not working at all.  No icons are showing up on the world map.

1.1.4 is uploaded and addresses buckets at Shrine of Seven Stars, Shrine of the Two Moons and Kun-Lai Summit. Along with moving that one bucket from Desolace to Stonetalon Mountain (Alliance), and adding the Refuge Point bucket that was recently hotfixed.

As far as I know Pandaria should be complete, maybe one horde bucket missing but it will be added in time. Outland issue with Aldor and Scryer was fixed last version (both Shattrath and Shadowmoon Valley), some Azeroth buckets may still be showing invalid locations or no locations at all, but if you really want to help you have to do this:

    1. Stand on top of the bucket.
    2. Interract with it and finish the quest.
    3. Open your world map (just once to properly update location data).
    4. Use this macro, then write down what it printed in the chat, and give it to me via PM or comment.

      /run print(format("Q=%d, F=%s, A=%d#%d, X=%.4f, Y=%.4f",GetQuestID(),select(2,UnitFactionGroup("player")),GetCurrentMapAreaID(),GetCurrentMapDungeonLevel(),GetPlayerMapPosition("player")))

I need questID, areaID, areaLevel, coordinates and faction data to be able to add it to the addon. Simply giving me coordinates and the name of the location is not enough, sadly. :(

Not seeing any new version :(

Otherwise it works fine, but I'm having an issue, I don't know if it's a bug or what.  I can see the candy bucket icon on the normal zone maps, but I don't see tom tom waypoint dots when I zoom out to the continent map.  It would be very helpful for planning a route to collect all the buckets.

  • #50

Did you modify click the icon? :P Clicking normally just focuses on one point, holding down shift/alt/ctrl while clicking will enter the "around the world" mode, hehe. I think I should rephrase the "you can modify click the icon to plot that location and all other non-visited once for a brainless road trip" part, not sure if "modify click" is clear enough...

OK, running just Candy Buckets and TomTom.

Still no dots on the Continent maps - except when I set one as my active waypoint.  Then it shows up fine, but only that one location.  Obviously the ideal would be to see all unvisited candy buckets on the continent map at once in order to plan a route.

TomTom version is v50001-1.2.1 from Curse, updater says it's up to date...  I'll try isolating the two addons and see what happens.

  • #47

That's kind of weird. You are using latest TomTom (not Lite) like me right? Does this happen if you run TomTom and CB alone? Just to test that is. :)

Tom Tom settings were already configured as you've specified in the description above.  I should have noted, other Tom Tom waypoints in other zones show up just fine.  But the ones that Candy Buckets put on the map aren't showing up on the continent maps.
