About Candy Buckets

Official repository can be found at GitHub.

The addon was reworked for WoD so please bear with me if there are issues, and feel free to post any errors for me to fix. Thanks!

Candy Buckets makes it easier to track several world event objectives:
- Hallow's End
- Lunar Festival
- Midsummer Fire Festival

Features implemented:
- Simple overview on zone and continent views.
- Works with the default map, probably not with addons like Carbonite.

Any suggestions? Drop a comment and let me know! :)

Tagging as new release.

    - Reverted Shattrath changes, apparently they are now accessible even without picking a faction. It will still hide buckets where you are below Neutral with either Aldor or Scryers.
Trying to fix TomTom arrow, but it seems to be a but faulty as it is right now. Relogging usually makes the arrow appear after clicking on the nodes.
Fixed an issue where browsing the calendar could trigger loading the other modules for Lunar or Midsummer. This shouldn't occur any longer.
    - Fixed tooltip to use the title of the module it was showing, and to use the zone name in the assigned waypoint. The last digits are the quest ID.

QuestID 12385, marked on wowhead still.. but there's nothing there. As far as I can tell this is the old Kargath candy bucket, but no quest available at the point or in the Ruins of Kargath.

QuestID 12379, also marked on wowhead, no node. Checked this on a lvl 76, lvl 40, and a lvl 90 with Loremaster for the zone.

And this isn't an issue that has anything to do with the addon, but I'll mention it here incase someone checks this instead of wowhead, Dragonmaw Port in Twilight Highlands has phasing issues with the candy bucket, can't see it unless you've done the starting chain to open the twilight highlands to org portal (requires lvl 84).

Believe everything else Horde side is working smoothly, have a few more alts to take through the buckets to double check.

EDIT: QuestID 29010 - The one that was in Desolace, now moved to Stonetalon, marking buckets with TomTom causes a waypoint to generate at the proper point in Stonetalon now, but it's showing on my Horde characters as well. Not the Candy Bucket icon, just the waypoint.

For Theramore inparticular, low level characters still see the inn pre destruction and can access that with no problems (did it this way on a lvl 72-74, forget what lvl exactly). High lvl characters, 85+ would be my guess, there is an npc that can be spoken to near the start of the old docks that will show you the phase before Theramore's destruction and should allow you access to the candy bucket there.

I manually added 29010 and somehow managed to make it appear in Desolace, in any case corrected my mistake and it should appear properly now!

About 28954 they added a hotfix to make it appear once more, hurray! Added it to the database with the proper coordinates and all.

I've said it once, I'll say it again; new content takes time to log and properly show on Wowhead, so for unfinished data I gotta manually add anything missing myself. This is why not all nodes are properly on your maps, especially the newly added once. Another issue is old data, like Theramore has no inn anymore yet the quest and such is on Wowhead and so the addon shows that node on your map, hehe. This will all be sorted out slowly but surely. ;)

Did a fly through on my alliance alt, found a couple issues:

QuestID 29010 - Zone is wrong, marked in Desolace, should be Stonetalon Mountains

Refuge Point in Arathi Highlands bucket isn't marked, should be QuestID 28954 at APPROXIMATELY 40 49, double check coords.

Having a few issues with points on my horde character but need to double check that's it's not just phasing. Will let you know :)

I completed all last year with the exception of Pandaria, and even installed your addon only shows me the points in Pandaria, I believe that it is configured to show only the missing, it would be possible to add an option for those who want to redo the whole event again?

Copy pasting my reply on WoWI :P

It only shows if your character can interract with the nodes (when you talk to one and finish the quest, that quest is marked completed, that's how I can track what you have done and what is irrelevant to show on the map), so your problem may be this one:

Also note that in Pandaria only Alliance and Neutral nodes are visible, as mentioned earlier and in change log, I don't have a Horde character so can't add them manually, and Wowhead is not yet updated to provide the needed information for me to use in the addon.

I hope this helped, if not, post another comment!

Sadly for the addon to work I also would need the questID provided by the bucket, otherwise it can't track what quest is done and not and these would always show, hehe. But yes, Horde once in Pandaria (as mentioned in some of my earlier comments) are missing. They will appear when Wowhead updates with the required data. I am sadly not a wizard. :(

    Thank You!

Wow... I took a long shot by searching for an addon like this and BAM! here it is. You have cut my ploting time by 1/4 at least. I would ask one thing to make it easier on a lot of people. Is there a way you could integrate this with the Carbonite ( map? Right now I have to open the Blizz map, see where the bucket is, then open carbonite's map to plot the destination, which really isn't THAT big of a deal, it adds a few seconds, but if it's easy to do, could you possibly?

    Again, thank you so much!

The second request to make it work with Carbonite, the issue was simply that the project looked dead until recently, so waiting for it to be polished and usable, then I'll gladly make this one compatible with Carbonite, just be patient, hehe. ;)

You can update to the latest pending file and modify-click a node, that node and all other nodes will be automatically set as your waypoints in TomTom, that should save you some time plotting courses. ;)

Ya, Carbonite *was* all but dead until one brave fan "Rythal" took it upon himself to save it. He took great personal (and legal) risk to update Carbonite for MoP (since the original authors no longer play). After being hearladed a God on the Carbonite forums, the authors decided to changed the licensing and allow Rythal to maintain updates of Carbonite... So, as of now it is very much alive (which I'm greatful for, cause I am lost every time there's a patch that make Carbonite not work, he he)

But thank you for your reply.. it would be awesome.

    EDIT: Ah. a update, nice

    This is Awesome TYVM!!!

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it started. I'm using TomTom. How do I plot a course to all the buckets? Or did you mean you can simply plot a course to each bucket?

  • #16

Simply left click the icon and it should get you going. If not, check addon settings that the crazy arrow is enabled, hehe. ;)
