About Carbonite Maps

Carbonite Maps is a google style map replacement for world of World of Warcraft.

Please visit Carbonite's official support forums for technical support, bug reports, comments, suggestions, etc.

Map - The Carbonite map gives you all the information you need in one easy to use and flexible Google like map. Move, size or zoom it the way you like.

Guide - Want to know where the nearest bank is? locate a mailbox? The entrance to the latest raid? Carbonite maps can pinpoint and show you the way.

Gather - Carbonite Maps has the ability to track and show your mining and herbalism nodes to allow fast and easy tracking of where they spawn. Includes the ability to import a special gathermate2 release which fully populates your list.

Where did the other parts of Carbonite go? Where is my Warehouse or Social Tracker?

One of the biggest complaints about Carbonite, both from a developer perspective and from a users has been that it was too large and tried to do too much. Now with this release, Carbonite itself is just the maps and nothing more. Each thing Carbonite did, can be picked and chosen as you wish by installing it separately. You can use as much or as little as you want.

- Rewrote MapAddIcon, now accepts a name (must be unique) and Carbonite caches it, so you only need to make one call per login for each icon

- New NPCScan overlay module in extra to handle the new way carbonite loads.
- I'm sure there is other things i'm forgetting... I really should track what I add better :P

    First of all, Rythal, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR GETTING THIS UPDATED!!!!!! But one question, are you still gonna have separate addons for questing, pvp, etc?

    That was my bad... on WoWI I uploaded all the new "addons" first and then updated Carbonite after... here on curse I updated Maps first knowing I needed to create separate projects for each one. It is updated now to show links to each module.

    The main thing I really miss about Carbonite is the map. It had way more detail than the in-game map. I realize now that it's temporarily unavailable how much it really did help. Just wanted to stop by and offer my thanks and support - this is a great addon and I am with everyone else here when I say I can't wait to see it back up again.

    I do miss this addon also, made finding instances, quests, and managing inventory over 11 characters much MUCH easier. I hope it comes back soon!!! If any of you know of a good inventory addon to use while this one is down, let me know, that would be great! thanks :)

    I can vouch for everyone here that Carbonite was, and is still a valuable asset when it came to adventuring in Azeroth. I'm sure a lot of us would donate if the creator wished it, I know from first hand experience that coding can be a hard thing and tedious - not to mention time consuming.

    The bottom line is we want to let you know that we support you and your mod and miss it very much. Come back soon! :)
