About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Show your location coordinates.
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Ethan Centaurai:
    - Bump Interface number to 60200.
    - ShowHide: Fixed an oversight that broke the "unread invites" option. Closes ticket 187.

    - Ping: Fixed a rare error that occurred when a player's class cannot be found for whatever reason.

    Hi there,

First off, great addon - its nice with a minimap addon with this many features. Now, I encountered a bug when using one of the shapes. When you get a quest that has a large area and you enable the blue quest-zone in your minimap it goes out of the selected shape. Screenshot here:

This is really annoying. My minimap is on the central lower part of the screen with action bars to the right and to the left (Bartender) and the LFG info window is partially blocked by my action bars. :(

This addon messes with a number of objectives/quests frame positions. After installation my objectives tracker frame moved and can't be adjusted horizontally even with MoveAnything. The only way to adjust it vertically was to change Height in Quest Tracker in Chinchilla. Not even disabling this module helped.

Another example is a frame called Quest Log NPC model in MoveAnything, it also moved to a weird place after I installed Chinchilla (was able to adjust it through MoveAnything).

Not sure why a map addon would interfere with quest and objectives frames, but could you do something about Objectives Tracker (called Quest Tracker in Chinchilla) position? Right now I can't move it horizontally in any way.

HandyNotes icons (blips) going outside of minimap border. Its very annoying.

I am having an issue with the show/hide on mouseover option. Regardless of what setting I choose, the buttons disappear unless I mouse over the minimap. This makes all minimap nodes for treasure chests disappear as well.

Seems to be a conflict - again - with ElvUI ::sigh:: Tracking and World Map icons missing. Nothing in ElvUI (like Garrison button) to hide/display those items.

Is that error from minimap with wow 6.2.2 or something else?

    I'm getting that as well.

  • #1438

I hate to say it but I don't think this is a Chinchilla problem. I haven't experienced it yet.

When does the error occur for you?

EDIT: It's a bug with Broker Garrison but an update for that addon has been released. Make sure to update that addon and the problem should go away. :)

If anyone has noticed an issue with their right-click menus (such as when you right-click on your portrait to leave party) constantly disappearing before you're able to actually click an option, it's due to a Blizzard bug. Just ensure that "LFG" under "Show / Hide" is checked (not hidden) and your menus will no longer disappear on you.

    cheers for that one!

Tracking module seems to be broken for the most part.  I posted a ticket about it.

"Chinchilla" and "Move Anything" are playing tug of war with the durability paperdoll icon again, I remember a while back you disabled it until you could figure out the code conflict, not a biggie but if you get around to it I would like to be able to move it as its undeath another frame now, and everytime I try to move it with either addon it snaps right back.
