About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Show your location coordinates.
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

When enabling/disabling tracking for townsfolk -> repair, the minimap appears to be showing the icon for food and drink, even with food and drink disabled.

  • #1176

I haven't been able to replicate this yet. :-\

I don't think Chinchilla is to blame anyway... Chinchilla only changes the artwork of the icons, not their functionality.

not sure if this is a chinchilla error or a external issue but a few of my buttons are being hidden behind the map. DBM and Bigwigs to mention a few. the started happening after the patch. any help would be appreciated.

Try setting the Strata option to "medium" or "low". It can be found in the Appearance section of the config.

If that doesn't work I'll invetigate further.

I too am having the same issue and the buttons are from Elephant and Reforginator. I also tried the suggestion but it did not help at first but once I reloaded my UI it worked and I did have to set mine to Low.

  • #1174

i tried changing the strata to every option to no avail. the icons remained behind the chinchilla map.

Thank you for this addon. It's one of my favorites, and I've had minimal issues with it.

I did have one request/question, thought. There is a blue "Alliance" skin for use on the minimap.. any chance of getting a red Horde one???

If I can find someone willing to make the artwork then sure! :D

I myself lack creative talent when it comes to images sadly. :\

I've got a problem with tooltips not showing up on node mouseover.  No Lua errors on any addons according to bugstacker

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Stay safe and have a good one.

This doesnt seem to play nice with Titan Panel.. The map doesn't want to shift everything downward when TP is enabled.

Am I missing some obvious fix?

This doesn't help me I'm afraid. I need the WHOLE error message, this is just part of it. :/

Yes that's much better, thanks. :)

That being said, I figured it out a moment ago and came back to edit my previous post. :P

Long story short, Chinchilla is trying to use a font that is no longer available (e.g., in an addon you have removed or disabled) and the game doesn't like that.

    I'll work on it tomorrow.
