About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Why this was not throwing up errors is beyond me.

Well, I've never seen that before! :)

I'll poke around and see what I can do.

  • #1054

For some reason, the LFG icon will absolutely not show no matter what i do, have i stumbled upon a mysterious non-reproducable bug, or is this something known?  Is there any info that could help me diagnose the cause of the issue? (without a lua error, im lost :/)

  • #1055

It is known and there was indeed an error on my side. I've fixed it in my local build and will release a new update Soon(TM).

  • #1068

Was the last update (2.5.6) supposed to be the one you were talking about?  If so, mines still gone after update :/.

hey is there any chance you can add in being able to move the new frames that have been added in pvp for flag carriers as my map is on the left of my screen and i would like to be able to move these somewhere esle
  • #1056

I'm not aware of any new frames for flag carriers but there are options to move them. I know it works in Warsong Gulch but I haven't entered any battlegrounds recently. I very rarely do PvP.

In the Position section of the config, scroll down and find "World State". Let me know if that helps. If not, I'll try to look into it further.

  • #1049

After moving the WatchFrame, it's resized so now I can only see 3 tracked quests :(

    Pls fix :)

  • #1050

This is a bug with Blizzard's code, not mine. The quest tracker does not like being moved.

As a workaround I have provided some minimal config that allows you to resize the quest tracker manually. They can be found in the Quest Tracker section of Chinchilla's config.

It is not ideal, but I can't find any other way.

  • #1052

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Is there any way to hide the minimap with bartender bars, or when entering a vehicle?

I have placed my minimap at the bottom center, with some bars next to it. But i want to use blizzards vehicle ui/bar, so i need to hide the minimap since it looks stupid with some of it sticking up behind the bar.

I can hide kgPanel grahpics by setting it's parent to any bartender4 bar. Could i do anything like this with the minimap?

  • #1051

This is not currently possible but I will be overhauling some of the code in the future.

It is certainly possible for me to add this functionality but I want to focus on fixing bugs first.

  • #1045

Tried disabling different addons and the addon "Minimap Button Frame" seems to be grapping the Dungeon Finder Icon now.

Hope i didnt waste too much of your time.

    ===================================

    Hi,

having a problem with the Dungeon Finder Icon. First time queuing will shortly display the eye like icon but after a short while it will disappear "forever". (Tried resetting the Profile but didnt work).

Using 2.5.5 and turned on lua errors but no errors where displayed on logon or on the start of the dungeon queue.

    Thanks for the hard work.

Not at all, turns out it was an error I missed. I have my Dungeon Finder icon set to show on mouseover and I got a "Usage: GetLFGMode(index)" error messsage after I queued.

I will fix this in v2.5.6.

  • #1044
