About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

    - Core: Don't open the config window while we're in combat.

    I use this in conjunction with Minimap Button Frame and now I have the simplest, most functional map interface yet. Beat out sexymap by leaps and bounds. Thanks!

    I'm having a problem with the boss health frames. They don't show up, instead I get a seme-transparent black box with a red bar at the top, a little off to the side of where the boss frame is supposed to be located.

    so just wondering how much memory does this use? (I use simpleMinimap which takes about 1.5 im looking for a mod that does basically the same thing but for less memory usage).

    If you open a ticket, you cannot see it anymore. The position options are enabled and correct.

    Is there a way to disable just the new tracking dot for your target that Blizzard added in 4.1? I don't want to disable all tracking, but I hate this new feature (the dot is too big and covers up the tracking I want to see). I searched through the options and couldn't find anything.

    This is actually built into the Blizz UI. Hit the magnifying glass icon on the side of the mini-map and uncheck Target and Focus.

    Is there any way to add 2 range circles instead of 1? like I want one for my maximum range of casting spells (40 yd) and one for my min range for AoE (10 yd)

    I hunter, and i used Nandini-New tracking dots. Can you update tracking with new function displaing target, focus and other on minimap?
    And what a solid square in Blip-Nandini-New.tga file?

    Force an update to the 1.3.2 release of Broker_Location and it seems to fix the Chinchilla minimap moving problem. Thanks to paks2 @ wowace for this!

    Thanks for adding scaling, alpha, and clickthrough to the Expander! I used a hardcoded alpha and clickthrough before the 2.3.2 version, nice to see you had the same thoughts. :) There is a problem with the Expander though. When using Routes, it does not show in same scale as the expanded minimap, making existing nodes in the distance askew compared to the predicted locations. I use GatherMate2 for loading node locations, but I think that is of no relevance... Hope this is fixable till next update. :D

    Okay, here is another workaround until the Chinchilla wizards figure out the problem.

    1. Uncheck "Enable" in the Position tab so Chin's own repositioning code is turned off.

    2. Install the MoveAnything addon.

    3. In the MoveAnything UI (an extra button is added on the game menu), expand the "Minimap" tree, check the "Mover" box on Minimap, then drag the minimap frame where you want it. I had to do the same with Tracking Button - everything else is grabbed in my UI by MiniMapButtonFrame. Uncheck the Mover boxes and close the UI.

    4. Adjust the desired shape of the minimap and the Zone text using Chin's UI as normal. Now you're set!

    Thank you so much. I was having issues with moving the Achievement tracking window because Chinchilla was overriding the MA settings.

    Chinchilla Team:
    I don't know how much extra coding would be involved, but if it's feasible, it would be immensely helpful to add an enable toggle to the various elements that Chinchilla can move. Love the add on, though. :)
