About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

    - Appearance: Set the default minimap strata to LOW.
    This matches Blizzard's default minimap strata settings.
    - Appearance: Simplify the strata options to low, medium and high.

    Why this was not throwing up errors is beyond me.

    When I trying to track any quest by shift-clicking on it in my quest log with Chinchilla Minimap enabled, WoW says that I can't track any more quests...

    I have a bug with combat opacity. I like to hide the minimap in combat for my custom ui. When set to zero combat opacity, the minimap hides, but the blips still show through. Also the feature flat out doesn't work in dungeons or caves and such.

    I had SimpleMinimap installed before, but for some reason it disabled my minimap for my priest, tryed everything to get it shown again, but then i installed this addone, and had the same problem, no minimap on priest, any 1 know why?

    I have the same problem with Chinchilla.
    In the beginning (2 days ago) the minimap was just hidden and appeared (including all the icon buttons) only when I held my mouse over it. Now (today) it completly vanished and the strange thing: even when i deactivate Chinchilla the minimap is still gone.

    Might be a different addon or a library which cases this mess.

    Macaroon's latest update added some sort of minmap function that doesn't seem to work with Chinchilla, so if you disable the macaroon minimap in your addons then Chinchlla should work fine again

    I have an issue with Chinchilla Minimap and Minimap Button Frame. My button frame has all the icon buttons, but they are all jumbled around. Not in a neat orderly row. When I turn off Chinchilla, Minimap Button Frame works like it should. All the buttons are in a nice row. I've tried changing Chinchilla settings but nothing seems to fix the problem. Anyone have a solution?

    Here's a quote off the comments section of MBF by the author off that addon:

    "Check your minimap addon. I know that for some reason Chinchilla has a setting to adjust the blip sizes but it seems to affect the minimap buttons as well. If you set this back to 100% then the buttons display correctly."

    This was the fix for me. If you have increased the blip size in Chinchilla it will mess up MBF positions and sizes.

    Is it possible to add Alpha to the Expander minimap? Also, some times the Expander bugs, and the expanded minimap goes way out of center, up to top right corner, squished to an oval, and not aligned with the overlay. Maybe a reset of the shape and position each time the expanded map is toggled will work? If you do not know of this graphic bug, I can provide a screenshot...

    objectives & untick disable mouseover you can then mouseover the tracker, move it & then it'll no longer be anchored to the minimap frame.

    I kinda dissapointed, I would like to be able to make the buttons, when detached, to go below where it's set, so it could sit along the bottom, also, to be able to do a fade with buttons. It also needs the ability to move addon buttons anywhere, yet I see no option for it.

    Most of SimpleMinimap is broken now, and Chinchilla is a GREAT replacement except for one thing: with SMM, I could freely move frames such as the Achievement Tracking Frame, with Chinchilla, it stays firmly attached under the minimap, and with the map at the bottom of my screen, I can't track any achievements. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this something that can be added?

    Also, every time I og out and log back in, EVERY setting is reset to defaults. I'm about to give up on finding a minimap addon that actually WORKS.

    i got an issue with the minimap disappearing when entering combat and while being outside... inside houses or dungeons/raids i don't have the issue but as soon as it counts as outdoors the minimap goes missing once i enter combat.
    only thing visible where the minimap should be is the tiny arrow showing my position and direction...

    any ideas? or do i really need to move back to SimpleMinimap?
