About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Show your location coordinates.
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Tagging as v2.6.2.

Ethan Centaurai:
    - Core: Don't open the config window while we're in combat.
    - ShowHide: Trim trailing whitespace.
    - ShowHide: Brave attempt at fixing compatibility problems with MinimapButtonFrame while also trying to avoid taint and deadzones.
    - Comment out Patch 6.0 compatibility stuff for now.
    - QuestTracker: Now hides the new dungeon header when "Show Title" is disabled.
    - Apparently a module’s :OnEnable() is called before the core’s :OnInitialize().
    - Move bossframe anchoring cludge into the core file since multiple modules make use of it.
    - Core: Bump Interface number to 60000.
    - QuestTracker: Remove Wider Objectives Tracker checkbox.
    - QuestTracker: Fix the objectives tracker for Patch 6.0.
    - Position: Fix the objectives tracker for Patch 6.0.

The "cap timers" as you call them are indeed movable by Chinchilla.

The options to move it are in the "Position" module. Type "/chinchilla" into the chatbox, click on "Position", and look for "Capture Bar". You can (should) then be able to unlock it and move it to where you want it.

You just made my day :) better mini map mod anywhere!!
  • #113
It appears that cap timers (the small status bar that shows the progress of a PVP node being capped such as the timers on EPL towers, workshops in WG, towers in the bone wastes in terokkar, etc) are tied to the mini map. Many of the mini map addons I have tried cause this to not be visable and they are visable in your mod so for that I am very pleased!

I am not sure this is possible, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask, is there any way to make the cap timer frame movable? It seems to be locked in the top right hand corner where the default blizzard mini map is located.

To see what I am talking about (well the easiest place to check) pop into EPL and flag near a tower (don't worry, no one is ever there lol)and it will display a cap timer.

Thanks in advance, and if it is not doable, then I will be happy with the fact that with mod I can see it :)

The watch frame is resizable by the user.

Make sure the window is unlocked and that mouseover abilities are enabled. Then mouseover the watch frame so it shows up, then click and drag one of the bottom corners to resize it. The bigger the watch frame, the more quests it can fit inside.

If you still have issues, then it's a problem with a different addon. Chinchilla doesn't touch the watch frame anymore so it is not the culprit.

Still getting the "one quest only" bug
  • #182
Also have this problem. only just realised though when I shifted my map to the bottom of my screen. didn't notice it when it was in the default location
  • #112
Same. I don't use the in game watch frame. I use the QuestGuru tracker. QuestGuru's autotracking of new quests has no problems with the new version. It's only if I go into the Blizzard quest log and manually Untrack and then try to retrack a quest that I get the error now.

chincilla is one of my favorite addons, but:
is there a posibiliy to see something like a changelog without browsing throw 10 (or more) forum pages on wowace? or i am just blind?
  • #108
Thanks for the respond. I ID the problem as a conflict during the update, a delete and fresh install with the new changes fixed all.
  • #107
dr: support for the watch frame was removed as the user can move it about without the need for addons. Please make sure that the Advanced Objective options are enabled in-game.
  • #106
Did you remove the quest tracker?
  • #105
I have a problem with the "Opacity" function- when I fiddle with the option absolutely nothing happens (both for the in and out of combat one). Thanks.
