About Chinchilla Minimap

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

I've got a problem with tooltips not showing up on node mouseover.  No Lua errors on any addons according to bugstacker

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too! <3

This doesnt seem to play nice with Titan Panel.. The map doesn't want to shift everything downward when TP is enabled.

Am I missing some obvious fix?

This doesn't help me I'm afraid. I need the WHOLE error message, this is just part of it. :/

  • #1164

Yes that's much better, thanks. :)

That being said, I figured it out a moment ago and came back to edit my previous post. :P

Long story short, Chinchilla is trying to use a font that is no longer available (e.g., in an addon you have removed or disabled) and the game doesn't like that.

    I'll work on it tomorrow.

    Sorry about that

Is that all of it this time?  I may have to disable BugGrabber if not

  • #1159

    I love this add-on!

That said, I am noticing a flashing in the Coordinate frame's background.

I typically have my background set to black with minimal/no transparency. While I am moving, I noticed that the background was flipping/flashing.

Eventually, I noticed that the flashes were showing me the passing area rather than the background.

So I tried setting it to full transparency.. and the flashing went away.. not as readable as I prefer with no background, but better than flashing.

I'm guessing the transparency is somehow unstable.. going to full and back to my setting quickly. If I set it to full, no problem. The other frames (like the clock) do not have this problem.

  • #1157

How can I view the arena enemy frame with chinchilla position enabled? Cause I see it only when I disable position.

  • #1158

I'm assuming you've moved your minimap to somewhere other than the top-left? For some reason, the arena frames are anchored to the minimap (i.e. when the minimap is moved, the arena frames move with it) so it's likely they have been pushed off the screen.

I want to fix this eventually but I need to take care of other things first.

    Please be patient.

Hides the durability man without providing an option to re-enable him. I assume this is accidental since there is an option to move him, even though you cannot see him.

Actually, you're right. I've found the problem. It's a quirk in Blizzard's code.

The durability man is hidden when in a vehicle or an arena. Chinchilla touches vehicle indicator code during startup and this seems to confuse the game and hide the durability man.

I'll see if I can find a fix. For now, either disable the Show/Hide module or turn off vehicle seat display.

Sorry about that. I've always bombed around Azeroth on my motorbike so I wasn't aware of what was going on.

No it doesn't. There's nothing in the code that causes the frame to be hidden.

My obsessive compulsive disorder demands I investigate this, but I am almost certain that it isn't Chinchilla's fault.

    It's possible. :|a

Time to make my character commit suicide... FOR SCIENCE.
