About CLCProtWarrior

Single target protection warrior rotation module for the clcInfo addon http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/clctracker.aspx . REQIURES clcInfo to work. This addon adds protection warrior spells and templates etc so you can use clcInfo to manage prot warrior rotations.

The default rotation is to Shield slam, use Revenge > Devastate on the first 2 GCD after Shield Slam, then on the last GCD before shield slam is up do Thunder Clap > Demoralizing Shout > Rend > Shockwave, but only if those abilities have fallen off. If another class is applying an equivalent debuff, it will not recommend Thunder Clap or Demoralizing Shout. There is also functionality to recommend the refresh of Thunder Clap or Demoralizing immediately when it falls off, as well as additional templates to track protection cooldowns (Last Stand, Shield Wall, Shield Block), and templates that can recommend when to Heroic Strike and Inner Rage based on rage thresholds (50 and 75 by default).

Let me know of any bugs/improvements that could potentially be made!

could you add the options to also use Concussion Blow and Shout?

Basically Shockwave > Concussion Blow > Shout on the 3rd gcd, maybe with the option to put Shout on a higher prio if buff would expire for the raid otherwise.

  • #22

Doesn't work.. it says dependecy missing, clc info. :S

  • #25

Oh I dunno, try installing the missing dependency clcinfo...? You know, like the instructions tell you to?

Hunter pet debuffs are not being checked. I would add:
    1)demoThreat should also check for:
    http://www.wowhead.com/spell=50256
Sure hunters should NOT have a bear pet during a raid, but why not be thorough.
    2)tclapThreat should also check for:
    http://www.wowhead.com/spell=90314
    http://www.wowhead.com/spell=50285

Works for me, but you have to work to configure it.
  • #17
Here is how I did mine:
    Setting up your Prot Template
    1. Type /clcinfo
    2. On the left hand side choose Template 1.
    3. Make sure the "Spec" tab is selected.
    4. For label type "Warrior Prot PvE" and click "OK"
    5. Set Primary Tree to "Protection"
    6. For Distinctive Talent set Tree to "Protection", Talent to "Shockwave", and rank to "1". I don't think warriors really pvp on prot, but if you do you might want to pick a different talent and rank that will differentiate your pve clcinfo from your pvp one.

    Make the Grid
    7. On the left under Active: Warrior Prot PvE select Grids.
    8. Click on Add Grid
    9. Select Grid1 on the left.
    10. Select the Layout tab.
    11. Set Columns to "2" and Rows to "1".
    12. Set the Horizontal and Vertical spacing to "0".
    13. Set Cell Width and Height to "10".
    14. Set Position X to "5" and Position Y to "-153". You can change the settings for step 12 and 13 to suit your UI.
    15. Click on the "General" tab.
    16. For Label type "Warrior - Protection" and hit "Okay".

    Make icons
Add icon for current ability to hit to the grid.
    17. Click "Add Icon" 7 (seven) times. This will make 7 icons.

    Current Ability button
    18. On the left click on the + next to Icons. Select Icon1. It should be preset to have Select Grid set to "Warrior - Protection" and Use skin from Grid.
    19. Select the Behavior tab.
    20. Under Categories select "Warrior | Protection"
    21. Under Templates select "Protection Rotation Skill 1"
    22. Click on the General Tab.
    23. Set Label to "Current Ability" and hit "Okay".
    24. Click on the Grid tab.
    25. Set Column to "11", Row to "1", and Width and Height to "6"

    Add next ability.
    26. On the left select Icon2. It should be preset to have Select Grid set to "Warrior - Protection" and Use skin from Grid.
    27. Select the Behavior tab.
    28. Under Categories select "Warrior | Protection"
    29. Under Templates select "Protection Rotation Skill 2"
    30. Click on the General Tab.
    31. Set Label to "Next Ability" and hit "Okay".
    32. Click on the Grid tab.
    33. Set Column to "17", Row to "1", and Width and Height to "4"

    Add Inner Rage
    34. On the left select Icon3. It should be preset to have Select Grid set to "Warrior - Protection" and Use skin from Grid.
    35. Select the Behavior tab.
    36. Under Categories select "Warrior"
    37. Under Templates select "Inner Rage"
    38. Click on the General Tab.
    39. Set Label to "Inner Rage" and hit "Okay".
    40. Click on the Grid tab.
    41. Set Column to "7", Row to "4", and Width and Height to "3"

    Add Heroic Strike
    42. On the left select Icon4. It should be preset to have Select Grid set to "Warrior - Protection" and Use skin from Grid.
    43. Select the Behavior tab.
    44. Under Categories select "Warrior"
    45. Under Templates select "Heroic Strike"
    46. Click on the General Tab.

It's single target.  In multi target situations you're on your own and should cleave accordingly.

Heroic strike isn't on the gcd, so go ahead and use the Heroic Strike icon to prompt you when to use it.

  • #20

Thank you very much for the detailed instructions. I never would have figured this out without your help!

So this rotation doesn't use sunder or cleave? I'm never getting prompted for heroic strike, either.

Could you post a link to a screenshot of how it's supposed to look?  I think I have it right but I just want to make sure.

Ooops.. step 11 should have rows set to "6" and columns set to "20".

    Sorry about that.
  • #15
You could add in some options to click through and sticky frames, and made a lock position... No that would be great.

Why not combine all the CLC addons into one addon with a Class Discovery tool to identify the class of the toon its running under? Plus combine the info tool and Spec monitor for changing specs and identifying spec. Ow you could just turn the tool into a Melee and Tank rotation tool that monitors buffs that refer to your Maximum DPS for DK's Tankadins, Ret Pallies, Prot Worriors and DPS worriers well I mean that would be awesome.. you know getting all the CLC Addons in the same addon would be the entire Idea. And make for a really good one indeed.
