About Comergy

This addon is suspended. Go here: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/comergy-redux

Use /comergy or /cmg to open the setting window.

Comergy is an addon for monitoring players energy, combo points, focus, rage or runic power. It allows tons of cumtomizations including customized color, sound notifications, bar partitioning and textures.

Why you should use it:
 - It's PRETTY and NEAT.
 - You can flip the bars (right to left), or turn it vertical.
 - You can partition the energy bar (up to 5 sub-bars).
 - Comergy is now available for all power-based classes (Rogue, Cat, Bear, Hunter, Warrior, DK).
 - It switches settings automatically when you switch between talents.
 - It shows player/target's health.

I finally wanted to start using this for a Monk, and now I see it just doesn't work for Monk.  Why is this?  They use Energy exactly like Rogues.  I'm still very grateful for a great addon, but it'd be great if Monks could be added at all.

Also, I agree that if it's not too much work, being able to resize the health bar would be very useful.

Edit: It seems like I actually was able to make it work for a Windwalker Monk, but I'm not 100% confident in it because I don't write addons.  I'd like someone who knows what they're doing to do this instead.

As I said previously, the energy bar should work (as it's coded exactly the same way as a rogue), but the Chi/Combo bar won't because there have to be a different coding logic.

  • #122

Yeah I know, it's just that the code for checking for Monk class wasn't there, so it never enabled for someone playing a Monk, and I was scared to edit it at first.  I also totally understand Chi can't work with the combo point part, don't worry.

In fact, I haven't had any game-breaking bugs from my edits, so I'll upload my comergy.lua file to show what changes I made for those curious and other Monks.  I just want to test one more thing, though.

    Hi there,

Great addon that shows power bar and hp bar infront of my eyes, also graphically nicely done.

However, small asking for creator... is it possible to make an option to make Health bar thicker. Right now there is no health bar manipulation options, or i missing something :), having hard time to follow it as it is, too tiny.

    Cheers

After some heavy editing of the code, I was able to make it works for every non-mana based classes (except Balance druid, kinda hard to have it work since it goes between -100 and +100, instead of 0 and +100). So far it works (tested) for: Rogue, Druid (Feral and Guardian), Hunter, Warrior, Deathknight, Paladin, Shadow Priest, Warlock (working for each spec)

As said earlier I did a lot of editing into the code to get to this result, and I think you (yjoe61) should use part of this edited code for future versions, as it saves you a lot of time since I wrote a large part of the modifications needed for multi-ressource support.

    Have a nice day

  • #114

    That seems cool.  Great job.

Now you just need to make it work for Monk! :P

  • #119

Oh okay, didn't know combo points were tracked so differently from secondary resources.  Yeah, I certainly wasn't 100% serious about you putting in that much work, just that it would be great for the author to do it.

  • #117

No, I know exactly how to make it work, maybe even replace the CP part for every class/spec that have combo-like ressources (Chi, Soul Shards, Burning Embers, Shadow Orbs, Holy Power), the fact is that I'd have to rewrite a pretty big part of the addon (the combo one, as it's actually based on an ingame "combo" function, so I'd have to rewrite a "combo updater" function entirely which depends on ressources instead of real combo points). Even though I have some coding knowledge, it's still pretty basic and it would take me some time to develop it. But if have I have some spare time (which is kinda rare latelly) I'll take a look into it, but the author would be far more suited than me for this rewrite, except that this would take a lot of time to write and debug. Not impossible though.

Edit: about the "+1 max chi", there is an ingame function called "unitpowermax", which do as it's name suggest, it gives the max number of this ressource. If you don't have the talent to add +1 chi, it will return "3", if you have the talent, the same function will return "4", so it's pretty easy to determine what the max is (in fact, I already implemented this for Sould Shards and Burning Embers)

There's no way to replace the combo points part with Chi?  Although even if you could, you'd have to be able to make the addon dynamically update that part for the talent that adds +1 Max Chi.  I guess it's harder than I thought, oh well. :(

Maybe the original author has a better idea for how to make it work.

  • #115

Having it working with Chi is easy (just having to had and edit 2-3 lines). The problem would be to have it work with Chi AND energy at the same time.

But having it to work with Chi is a piece of cake, can be done in 5min.

Thanks for adding the Gradient option, makes tracking my max runic power much easier.  Laughing

  • #109

I love Comergy and use it for my rogue, hunter, and warrior already (use DocsDebugRunes on dk bcos I like rune recharge bars in addition to runic power).  I second Seldaris' request to add Demonic Fury resource so I can use it for my Demonology lock too.  Thank you for great addon.

I reverted back to Comergy 1.59 Beta and changed line 1175 to: status.talent = GetActiveSpecGroup()  It now works again, but the wierd thing is the config window says its version 1.58r. So I went to curse and down loaded a fresh 1.59 beta just in case. Same issue.

The reason I reverted back is because 1.59r thows the following error when I run config.
