About Combo Points Redux

Combo Points Redux is a numeric and graphical display for your combo points (and other similar mechanic abilities) based on the excellent numeric-only addon BasicComboPoints.

Slash Command

/cpr or /cpredux

  • Numeric and graphical display of your combo points
  • NEW Advanced Point Tracking to track your combo points on yourself instead of your target
  • Works for vehicle combo points (ex. Malygos Phase Three)
  • Numeric display and graphical display are independently movable
  • Many icon choices for the graphical display
  • Also tracks many other stacking buffs/debuffs including
    • Death Knights: Bone Shield
    • Druids: Combo Points
    • Mages: Arcane Charge
    • Monks: Chi
    • Paladins: Holy Power
    • Priests: Shadow Orbs
    • Rogues: Combo Points, Bandit's Guile and Initiative
    • Warlocks: Soul Shards and Burning Embers

Important notice: since v3.2.6, ComboPointsRedux embeds BugGrabber, an error catching addon. Please check the error is really about ComboPointsRedux before reporting them here. I suggest installing BugSack to catch the errors.

Please report any bug or error using the WowAce bug tracker (your Curse account works there). The comments section below is not meant to report and track bugs.

Some words about submitting bug reports:

  • I do not care about “it doesn’t work, fix it!” messages. I need to know how it failed and a way to reproduce the bug so I can test it and make sure I fix it.
  • Bug reports are not in the “fire and forget” kind of things. I may have to ask you some details.
  • Please check all existing tickets and the “known issues” section below before submitting new ones. Duplicate reports will be rejected on sight.

If you want another module for a spell please file them as tickets on WowAce. It makes my life easier!

Currently the addon will work in all locales, but the options screen is not translated on all clients. If you would like to help translate the options screen you can submit translations with the new localization tool at wowace.

I'm having some trouble with soul shards. The option to hide them out of combat doesn't seem to be working properly. When I first log on the shards are displayed, even though I have the option checked to hide them out of combat. If I enter combat, the shards will then be hidden once I leave combat. But if the UI is reloaded, anytime I change zones for example, then the shards are displayed again until I enter and leave combat again.

I haven't noticed this problem with anything else I've tracked. Holy power, chi, combo points, focus fire, all of that works fine.

Should be fixed in 2.2.14, which will be out shortly.

  • #185

Hmm, looks like I had a copy/paste error.  My apologies, 2.2.15 should actually work as intended.

  • #184

Yep just updated and it seems to be working. Thanks!

Edit: Actually, I was wrong. It's kind of doing what it was before, but not exactly. Now, when I first log in, the shards are not displayed. But if I enter combat the shards are still not displayed. If I open the cpr options, uncheck hide out of combat and recheck it, then the shards are displayed and are still there when I enter combat and disappear when I leave combat. But if I enter combat again after that, the shards again are not displayed. If it helps here's the error message I get when I log in:

    Message: ...rface\AddOns\ComboPointsRedux\Modules\SoulShards.lua line 76:
attempt to index global 'ComboPointsRedux' (a nil value)
    ...rface\AddOns\ComboPointsRedux\Modules\SoulShards.lua:76: OnSpecChange()
    ...rface\AddOns\ComboPointsRedux\Modules\SoulShards.lua:32: OnModuleEnable()

Found this awesome combo tracker while doing WotLK's EoE final dragon battle in the air with Malygos, but have continued to use its trackers for shaman Tidal Waves and Fulmination--thanks a ton for making it more than just for stealthers!

(Love to use it with Hear Kitty for sounds, too)

  • #181

Hmm, adding sounds could be a useful improvement...

Version 2.2.12 should be available shortly and should fix the points not being the right spot (and should still fix odd animation behavior for the Burning Embers module).  It should also resolve some edge cases relating to points growing outside of the container (the grey box when frames are unlocked).

I apologize for letting the issue reach a release build.  Hopefully everything is really fixed now, feel free to yell at me if it isn't. :)

im having a problem with the combo points that i generate not showing where i place the grey box, i have locked and unlocked the settings and moved the box both by draging the grey box and moving the coords in the options, neither of which seem to work, right now the combo points, and anticipation graphics appear on the bottom of my screen centered, which is overtop of my action bars, was wondering if i messed something up or if it maybe a bug, as of yet i havent recieved any error log with it tho. thanks in advanced.

  • #177

Yep, same issue that iShotdown reported.  Related to an anchoring change I made for animating the points.  Thought it was tested in alpha builds enough, but it wasn't.  You can downgrade to the older version until I make a new release.

here a pic of my problem.

  • #175

Working on a fix, sorry about this, have some typos in the code.

  • #173

I've used this addon forever but today for the first time its bugged out and i cant figure out a fix. so the problem is the combo points are squished togetther and stuck at the bottom of my screen even though the anchor is in the middel. ive deleted cache folder and anything to do with cpr in the WTF folder but still nothing seems to be working. plz i need this addon all the other combo points UI addons are shit. lol

I LOVE this mod, and have been using it for as long as I can remember on my rogue. It also works amazingly well for my warlock, tracking Burning Embers and Soul Shards, but I'm wondering 1 thing: Is it possible to make the warlock Embers/Shards portion only track them if you're in the spec? ... Currently, when I go Destruction, for example... I still see all the Soul Shards from my Affliction spec on the screen. Why not hide them until I go Affliction again (which would, in turn, hide the Embers from destro)? Possible? =) Just a thought.

This is already in the alpha builds.
