About Cooldown Used

   What is Cooldown Used (CDUsed)?
It's an addon that monitors many spell casts from your party/raid members (mostly, special spells with long cooldown), like Shield Wall, Rebirth, Guardian Spirit...
Everytime such a spell is used by a party/raid member, it's displayed in many ways on your screen (or chat channels).
You can choose for each spell category (Aura gained, Aura lost, cooldown used, Interrupt used, ...) many display options such in floating combat text, chat channel (party/raid/custom channel), or simply in the special CDUsed window.
You can add custom spells (not monitored by default) to any category, make templates of monitored spells, or use the default templates (tank, heal, kicker, everything).
The addon also tracks tank taunts (miss/success), and kickers interrupts (miss/success).
This addon can be very helpful for raid leaders who want to track who used there survival cooldowns at a critical time, who didn't and caused a wipe.
It can also be very useful for healers to easily see if the tank is under a survival cooldown, and for tanks to see if another tank failed to taunt a boss (miss, immune).
The addon supports plugins which can be added to do special things when a spell is used.
A small plugin named "kick" is installed by default, when enabled, it monitors all party/raid members that are able to use an interrupt spell, and if said spell is in cooldown or not (showing a small progression bar for all player's kick spell).
You can choose to enable or disable the addon on some locations (world, wintergrasp, 5-man instance, raid, battleground, arena) from the configuration menu.
While in-game, use "/cu" to show the CDUsed window. Right click on the window's title to open the configuration menu.
You can resize the window by dragging the bottom right corner of the window.
   Hope this addon helps.

seems the add on didnt work for me in a za/zg gonna find out tonight during raid, unless this is an addon that every member needs? =\
  • #29
No, you don't need all your raid to have the addon installed.
But, you should check if the addon is active and have at least some spells monitored.

    1) Check if it's enabled from the quick setup menu: Right click on the CDUsed window (or type "/cu" to open the window if you closed it), go to the Enables menu, and check whatever you need there
    2) Load a template of monitored spells from the quick setup menu: Right click on the CDUsed window, go to "Monitored spells", then "Templates", then load "Everything" template.

Patch seems to have broken this addon. Not getting any lua errors, it just simply isnt showing anything in the box anymore, was working fine before the patch.

Anybody got any insight or is the creator still around to fix it as I REALLY like this addon. Even recommended it on my blog and it;s a shame it's broken.

Sorry, I haven't been here for a while.

You have a few things to configure:
    - Where you want things for be reported (per category)
    - When you want things to be reported (while in the outside world, while in an instance, in a raid, ...)

By default, the addon is not enabled in the outside world, so you have to change that by enabling 'World' in the "Enables" sub-menu

I have this installed, on, and set to announce to self. Except it didnt announce anything. Is there any out of the box config needed?

expaned on this, "Monitored spells" has an Arrow next to it, but no sub menu options
  • #22
same problem, doing nothing at all

    What is your class?
    Maybe it's related.
You should be able to load one of the default "monitored spells profile" if you don't have by default any spells (which is weird, but not impossible).
I don't remember the menu where you can load a template and I cannot log right now.

Other possibility is a lua error preventing the menu from populating. Any of you have lua errors enabled?

Suggestion: when an ability is used by anyone in the raid (Warlock soul stone or Druid res), it would be nice if a timer bar was shown so that the player knows how much time is left until that ability can be used again.
  • #19
That's an idea, but isn't b-rez/soul/ankh limited to one per fight now?

Sorry, I was away from wow for the past 2 months, I'll re-enable my account when WoW 4.0 will reach the live servers.
I've almost fully updated CDUsed for 4.0, I just need to update new cooldowns (and remove old one).
I'll take a look at your request when all my addons are 4.0 compatible :)
  • #17
I'm going to release a wow 4.0 compatible version tomorrow.
Later this week (or next one), I'll start working on a new version allowing you to fully customize which spell you want to display, and how it is displayed

Any update on custom spell groups? Is it possible to just add 2 custom groups the .lua for now?
