About Deadly Boss Mods

DBM supports WoW 4.3 and Dragonsoul

Alpha builds from the SVN are always available on deadlybossmods.com. You will always find the latest version and news about Deadly Boss Mods there.

Features

  • Boss mods for all raid bosses
  • Colored raid warnings (players will be colored according to their class) with icons - so you will know what's going on without even reading the message
  • Auto-respond during boss fights. DBM will inform anyone who whispers you during a boss fight that you are busy. These messages contain the name and health of the boss as well as the raid's status
  • HealthFrame: you can enable a simple frame that shows a health bar for all active bosses. This is enabled by default for multi-mob bosses like Four Horsemen
  • Bars can be enlarged with decent effects when they are about to expire
  • Crash recovery: you had a disconnect or crash during a boss fight? No problem for DBM! It will request the timer and combat status information from other DBM users in your raid group and you get your timers back
  • Synchronization system for accurate timers
  • No dependencies, no embedded libraries (except for the optional LibDataBroker plugin that embeds LibDataBroker)
  • Modular design - all boss mods are plugins and can be exchanged, removed or updated separately
  • Load on demand - all boss mods are separate AddOns and they will be loaded when they are needed. So they don't use memory or cpu until you enter the corresponding instance
  • Efficient code: DBM uses less than 250 kb memory and the cpu usage is also very low
  • Special effects like the screen flash effect, huge warning messages and sounds will draw your attention to critical events
  • Bars can change their color over time and flash before they expire
  • There are many bar designs to choose from, all designs are are customizable: you can change the color, size, icon position etc.
  • Support for SharedMedia, so you can use any texture for your bars
  • Option to create custom timers, so-called "Pizza Timers" for your pizza or whatever you prefer to eat while raiding. You can also send those timers to your raid group
  • Powerful object-oriented API - you can use it to write your own boss mods!

Additional Mods

Slash Commands

  • /dbm - shows/hides the GUI
  • /dbm timer <time> <name> - starts a local timer, the time can be in the mm:ss format
  • /dbm broadcast timer <time> <name> - broadcasts a timer to the raid
  • /dbm unlock - shows a movable timer bar (alias: move)
  • /dbm ver - performs a raid-wide version check
  • /range or /distance - shows the RangeCheck frame
  • /dbm pull <time> (seconds)
  • /dbm break <time> (minutes)

Changes:
* Fixes a bug where some mods didn't load properly for Druids
* Added a new "Disable cinematics" option to the "General Options" option pane, this disables _all_ in-game cinematics completely. This is either for OS X users who are affected by a weird WoW crash bug related to cinematics (see http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3657431971?page=1) or for everyone who is sick of seeing some cinematics every time. Note: this option is disabled by default, i.e. you will have to enable it manually in order to block movies
* This update contains a lot of new or updated localizations for non-english clients

    - Omega via svn r6972: fix a bug with range frame failing to update while inside DS, it seems it fires "ZONE_CHANGED_NEW_AREA" when changing areas while INSIDE the zone, mainly when going to eye of eternity portal, so range frame doesn't break anymore for people who leave it on between pulls.
    - Omega via svn r6971: also add ice lance special warnings for 3 or more stacks (will only announce every 3 so it's not excessively spammy if you fail at debuffs or don't care cause it's LFR)

    - Omega via svn r6969: Hagara, have range frame auto switch to 10 on lighting rod phase, instead of closing.

    Hi!

Thanks a lot for your work, it's one of that add-ons I would be dead without :-)

Could you please provide information, how can I turn off or replace boss HP that shows at the middle of the screen?

    Thank you in advance.

  • #3618

Uncheck the "Show boss health frame" option of the mod,

  • #3614

Under PvP battlegrounds, the stats for bgs and arenas are always at 0. everyone ive spoken to also says they'res is all 0s. is this feature just broken? or is there something else that needs to be downloaded to make it work?

  • #3615

These are "supposed" to be 0. Altho, they shouldnt even be visible at all as they are 'useless'

    Hello -

Can this mod be configured to show warnings via Miks Scrolling Battle Text?  BigWigs has a nice organization where you can choose various outlets for messages.  All I had to do was check on an option and they would be output to MSBT (or blizz error frame or w/e i would like).

It is not possible to configure DBM to report warnings via other channels/addons (like MSBT).

It might be possible to do this by changing the LUA files yourself, but I don't have the time to assist you with this ;)

    Quote from mysticalos »

it means you haven't properly configured your mod. It doesn't just change options for you based on spec, the settings were chosen as defaults the first time you ran the mod only, which means if you were a dps first time it ran, it uses dps defaults, if you are tank first run it uses tank defaults, changing spec doesn't change the settings, you have to go onto mod options and choose what you want yourself.

so ive been waiting for an answer for over a month now so this dosnt help at all what option whold change it i looked atthem alot and none say tank or dps so how do i change this im not waiting a monthfor an answer again ill just uninstall

  • #3610

In the GUI you will not see anything like tank/dps/healer. The only thing mysticalos pointed at is that the first time you install/use DBM (or if some new warnings/timers are added) it will use the option default based on the talents you have at that point.  Meaning, if you are a tank and in tank spec and install DBM -> it will use the tank defaults. However if you are a tank but in dps spec and install DBM -> it will use the dps defaults.

To change (enable/disable) certain warnings/timers you can open the GUI by typing in-game:  /dbm

On the left side of this window you can select instance/boss and a list of all warnings/timers/etc appears on the right side which you can enable/disable as you like.

PS. Your first question regarding this was on 4 January, so technically you have been waiting for 26 days which is less than a month :)

  • #3608

Why  are the dbm for  outlands/wotlk  gone?

  • #3611

They are not gone, they are just no part anymore (since Cata) of the main package.

The "old" mods can be found at: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/dbm-bc

  • #3606

i cannot get this to load to my account, can anyone please help?

  • #3612

On the character selection screen -> Bottom-left there should be a button called "addons"

Is DBM listed in this Addons list?

If it is listed, enter the game and type  /dbm  -> does this show up a DBM window?

  • #3604

It would be nice if you could add a timer to remind us to drop guild banner of cooperation during a boss fight

  • #3607

why? as of patch 4.3 they last 15 min now with a 10 min CD

  • #3603
