About Deus Vox Encounters

Deus Vox Encounters (DXE) is a boss mod inspired by RDX. It is designed to be functional, efficient, and customizable, so you can change what you want and how you see this addon.


  • Automated: Activation, starting, and stopping of encounters is automatic

    • Boss health tracking gives you more awareness of fights
    • Engage timer tells you how long you've been fighting
    • Shortcut buttons provides easier access to common commands

  • Distribution System: Allows you to send encounters to the raid or individual players
  • Profile System: Switch settings between your characters
  • Modular Design: Encounters are loaded in appropriate zones

Getting Started

When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:

  1. Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
  2. Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
  3. Folder Icon: Opens a drop down menu to activate encounters
  4. Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
  5. Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows

Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe for commands. There is also a minimap icon, which can open the configuration dialog.

Please visit the localization page to translate in-game phrases. It is open to anyone with an account. The most important phrases are the chat triggers for bosses, because they start encounters. However, not all encounters are started by chat triggers. The rest of the phrases are for display purposes. The following languages need a maintainer:

    Lich King defile on self fires when you get the aura (stand inside defile). The general defile warning detect when it's cast on you, but you can't change the options specifically for yourself. We'd like to have a separate warning for defile cast on you (so on SPELL_CAST_START), so person with defile can run away. That should be possible, right?

    I'll think about separating the warnings into a self and others warning and make the Defile on others warning proximity based.

    One insanely cool feature for Sindragosa would be to add a "pulse-indicator" that show's a bar indicating when the next Mystic Buff is going to hit.

    I'm thinking something like the old-school rogue energy-tick bar if you remember those.

    Any chance we can get arrows to the seeds on the Festergut encounter? As raid leader I'm trying to call which melee/healer needs to run out where when 2 or more seeds end up on the melee and sometimes marks aren't enough (as when a shadow priest gets marked and the shadowy mark blends into the fog in the room) to see quickly enough where the 3 seeds are. Giant 3D Arrows toward the seeds would be perfect.

    Also, I use the manual timers (such as break and pull timers) in DBM frequently in my raids, does DXE have something similar? I may have to run both concurrently for the few DBM features DXE is missing.

    Overall at the moment DXE looks superior for non-lead raiders to use (Arrows toward malleable goo targets on Putricide? Hell yes!), but DBM has certain raid LEADER benefits DXE seems to be lacking (unless I'm missing it). I have several people in my raids with terrible PC's that can't run their own boss mods without lagging out of fights, so I have to call stuff out myself. :/

    Most bossmods can do them, but DXE should have a similar action-set for "Necrotic Plague on me" as f.ex "Defile on Me". The current NP-set is really only good for the one who dispells it.

    If I run Raids with DXE, I get random WoW-Freezes and have to restart either Windows or WoW.
    It happens about once every 1 to 3 hours.
    This kind of Freeze only happens with DXE activated.
    I'm using it anyway, because it uses WAY less resources than DBM usually,
    but the freezes are extremely annoying and usually deadly for my Group,
    as I am a Tank...

    Are there any incompatibilities/conflicts known between DXE and other Addons?
    (Obviously, I would not run DBM at the same time ;) )
