This add-on is designed to help players improve DPS, currently it goes about this in 3 ways.

So far, for 4.0.6 I've looked at Mage (Fire), Warlock (Demonology) and Warrior (Prot and Fury). ==

Cast Time Improvement

If you look at why people are lagging behind on worldoflogs, it is usually because their not using all time available to DPS. Waiting for the cast bar to finish before starting another cast can be 1 second your not DPSing. Ensuring chain-casting is a bigger upgrade to dps than a higher Tier of gear - think of it as having a permanent free Heroism. Spells can be queued by clicking the next spell early, which will leave 0 gap between casts.

This add-on monitors the time between finishing one cast and starting another, providing this feedback to the user so that they can reduce this lost dps time. It's aim is to help improve this ABC - always be casting. It currently rates the gap as follows, with a summary at the end of combat.

  • 0-49 millisecond gap - Green for Good!
  • 50-19*9 millisecond gap - Blue for Okayish.
  • 200> millisecond - Red for improvement needed

If you see red, try to queue up your spells quicker.

Timing between casts is on the client, so it's currently a best-effort-guestimate, the code will try to take into account lag to even things out.

Cast Bar Improvement

This is a follow on from 'Cast Time' improvement. The above can inform the player that they need to queue up a cast quicker. This improvement makes the Cast Bar complete quicker (based on the above feedback) to encourage clicking/keypressing earlier. Only works with the Standard Blizzard Cast Bar at the moment.

Cast Rotation Tips

The 'DPSTime' frame gives a visual hint of what the next spell to queue up should be. This is currently working for the following classes:

Mage - Fire and Arcane

Warlock - Destruction

Priest - Shadow

Shaman - Elemental, Enhancement

Druid - Moonkin

Warrior - Protection

These hints are based on priorities, as described below.

Fire Mage

  1. Scorch - If scorch is about to drop off. Does not suggest this if 'Improved Shadow Bolt' is on the target.
  2. Living Bomb - Keep the LB debuff up on the target
  3. Fireball - The Fb mage 'filler' spell
  4. Pyroblast - If 'Hot Streak' comes up

Arcane Mage

  1. Arcane Blast
  2. Arcane Missiles when Missile Barrage is up and we're at (or about to hit) 4 AB stacks.

Destruction Warlock

  1. Keep Life Tap debuff up on player
  2. Put 'Curse of Elements' if no Ebon Plague or Earth and Moon on the target
  3. otherwise 'Curse of Doom' if the target isn't likely to die < 1 min
  4. Keep the Immolate debuff up on target
  5. Chaos Bolt when not on cooldown
  6. Conflagrate when not on cooldown and Immolate debuff is up
  7. Incinerate filler spell

Shadow Priest

  1. Keep Vampire Touch up on the target
  2. Keep Devouring Plague up on the target
  3. Mind Blast when off cooldown
  4. Shadow Word:pain when 5 stacks of Shadow Weaving on the target
  5. Mind Flay filler spell

Elemental Shaman

  1. Keep water shield up on the player
  2. Keep Flame Shock up on the target
  3. Lava Burst when off cooldown and Flame Shock is up
  4. Lighning Bolt filler spell

Enhancement Shaman

  1. Keep Lightning shield up on the player (if no other Shaman shield is up)
  2. Earth Shock when off cooldown
  3. Lava Lash when off cooldown
  4. Lighning Bolt when Maelstrom weapon is at 5 stacks
  5. No filler spell

Protection Warrior

  1. Shield Slam whenever it is not on cooldown
  2. Revenge whenever it is up
  3. Devastate up to 5 stacks
  4. Concussion Blow whenever it is not on cooldown
  5. Shockwave whenever it is not on cooldown
  6. Keep Demoralizing Shout debuff up on target
  7. Keep Thunder Clap debuff up on target
  8. Devastate filler spell

Fury Warrior

  1. Slam when Slam! procs
  2. Bloodthirst when off cooldown
  3. Whirlwind when off cooldown
  4. Heroic Strike when Rage >= 30
  5. No filler spell

Moonkin Druid

  1. Keep Faerie Fire debuff up on target
  2. Keep Insect Swarm debuff up on target
  3. Keep Moonfire debuff up on target
  4. Starfire when player has Eclipse buff
  5. Wrath when player has Orange Eclipse buff
  6. Wrath filler spell
