About DrDamage

Update 05/24/2013

DrDamage is currently being developed for 5.x. Only monks (of any spec) are not supported. All classes which existed prior to Mists are supported.

Current state: Check the Page before providing feedback!

DrDamage displays the calculated damage or healing of abilities with talents, gear and buffs included on your actionbar buttons. The addon also adds various statistics to the tooltips in your spellbook and on the actionbar.

Slash Commands:

/drd or /drdmg or /drdamage

If you want to help having this addon translated into your language visit:

  • Supports all classes
  • Actionbar addons supported: Default, Bartender 4, CT_BarMod, Dominos, elvUI, Macaroon, Nurfed AB, IPopBar, nUI, ReAction Bars and RDX.
  • Places text with the metric of your choosing on the actionbar buttons.
  • Damage and healing statistics are placed into your tooltips. This includes for example critical hit chance, spell damage and damage coefficients, averages, DPS, DPSC (damage per seconds cast), damage until OOM and more!
  • Your own buffs and your target's debuffs are taken into account.
  • Allows manual modification of the essential talents, buffs and character stats used to calculate. For example you can test how much increasing your spellpower by 100 would increase your damage or healing output.
  • If you're overwhelmed by the amount of statistics presented, you can use the options reduce the amount to whatever you feel is important!

So I'm getting that this has been left to rot atm, does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement?

    Когда для 5.0.5 будет?

I've commented on this one earlier but I feel remiss without thanking the author, Gagorian. If ya don't wanna do another patch, you've no obligation, don't feel bad- It's your life  :)          Awesome idea, awesome implimentation, if nothing else, a great concept/foreground for the next programming geek that might wanna create something of the same utility. On the plus side for you: you can say on a resume that you created a program millions of folks have used. Think about that and pat yourself on the back. Again, thanks!

Да хороший аддон, как раз сейчас его и не хватает!

  • #1978

С помощью него можно было бы посчитать во что гемится в пвп. Да, много работы, но оно того стоило бы. Как жаль что автор забил.

It is a very good addon.  One that will be missed severely.

Right now the best I can do is replace some of the missing calls with the new ones to keep it from buggin out.  Beyond that,  I'm not familiar enough with the calculations or any of that to update it for the new spells and abilities.

But I'd be willing to learn.

Not sure if thats even possible since i dont know how wowace works, but since we see few ppl willing to work on some portions of addon why dont you try to get more ppl involed in sense that they propose changes to addon and you keep finaly say on those changes. It may lesen burden in getting/finding  that 1 right person to continue as addon author/mainteiner and getting to point so you dont have to spent as much time to fix this addon

Gagorian I thank you so much for this awesome addon and can totally understand why you cant undate and hand over to someone else.  You have put so much work into this addon and why  hand it over to someone who wont have the dedication that this addon needs to functions properly.  I hope that there is someone out there tho that will be able to do it.  Once again thank you for your time to keep it going up in till now and i wish you well 8)

Now has any1 out there found an addon that is similar to would b awesome if u could post 8)

  • #1973

No. There's nothing even remotely similar to this, which is why you see pages and pages of people *begging* for it to be bandaged, because one with bare bones would be an improvement over nothing at all.

I still haven't been contacted by anyone willing and capable enough to take over the project so there doesn't seem to be much hope on that front. I appreciate the offers of donations for the project and also the few people who have donated already, but the problem is that if I ask for a certain sum in return for my time invested then this becomes a job. I don't want to accept a job I'm not sure I can deliver and disappoint the people who donated. Now there's a theoretical chance if I take some time off from work during the Christmas season that I might have some spare time, but it just seems like too big of an undertaking considering every patch and expansion in the future will just break the addon again.

Blizzard's own tooltips now update based on specs, talents, buffs, and procs with accurate damage numbers.  It seems DrDamage could become a much simpiler addon.  Gone are the days where every spell has to have damage numbers manually calculated if you are able to cull out the numbers Blizzard already provides.  If so, slap that number onto the hotkey and you are done.
