Yeah, it's a gryphon (alternatively: griffon) but the addon does the trick so I really don't care what it's called. It's better than running a script every time you log a toon. Thanks Kring!

You only see the dragon (gryphon/bird/rat) when you have a high screen resolution. Then, it's always shown. It's part of the default UI from Blizzard.
