About [LootCount] DropCount
It will maintain a database over drop-rates (how often and from what mob) for items dropped by mobs - viewable on-screen at mouseover. Also records vendors, books, quest-givers, and best drop-area.
Visit us at github: github
Database
Please send your collected data to "dropcount@ybeweb.com". Doing so will help you to participate in the data that others collect. The collected data can be found in the "<WoW>/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables" directory. The filename is "LootCount_DropCount.lua". This file does not contain any information about your servers and/or character names or any other personal information.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Functionality
DropCount is an addon initially made for my own purpose, as I wanted some method of knowning where to go for materials needed for my professions. Later it has grown in functionality. Today it contains quite a few other functions too.
DropCount can tell you:
- what items a mob drops, and how often
- what mobs drop a specific item, and how often
- which vendors sell a specific item
- where there are quests you have not done
- where there are books you have not read
- where to go for grinding (still needs more data from you users on this)
The collected information can be viewed in several ways:
Drops
1: When you mouse-over a mob, you can hold down <alt> to display a list of items the mob may drop.
2: When you mouse-over an item, you can press <alt> to display the mobs that drops this item.
Vendors
1: When you mouse-over a vendor you can hold down <alt> to display a list of items the vendor sells
2: When you mouse-over an item, you can press <ctrl> to display the vendors that sells this item.
3: You can mouse-over a vendor-icon on the minimap or worldmap to display a list of items the vendor sells
4: Type "/lcdc item" plus the item you want to check. You can enter full links, numeric item-IDs, or the item name.
Books
1: You can mouse-over a book-icon on the minimap or worldmap to display its name
2: Type "/lcdc book" plus the title of the book. If the book is known, a list of location(s) will be displayed.
3: Type "/lcdc book zone" to display a list of all the known books in your current zone.
Best drop-area
1: Mouse-over an item in your bags
Search
See above at "vendors" number 4, and "books" number 2 and 3.
Colour coding
In the list of mobs that drops the item, the mobs are colour-coded from red to green. A red mob-name is a mob that you have not killed many of, and the reported drop-rate may be inaccurate. The more mobs you kill, the greener the name gets - and the reported drop-rate will be a lot more accurate.
The data
The data supplied with DropCount comes from users of DropCount who has shared their data by sending it to "dropcount@ybeweb.com". Please support the developement of this addon and send you data. If you really want to help, send your data once a month or so. It will help keep the data at a peak level.
Sharing data
If you are in a guild, DropCount will connect to the guild data-channel and immediately start adding kills and loot from other guildes to your database. No more set-up required.
Special items
Normal items are counted on a per-kill basis. Profession-drops are counted on a per-prof-loot basis. Quest-items are not counted, as they will require you to be on a quest for it to drop. These items will however show up as "Quest" in stead of a percentage.

Hmm, I think I saw a message if it adding my Jeeves to the List.
Since Jeeves is a Craftet 10-Minutes-available-&-1hour-cooldown-playerspawned NPC, it shouldn't be added to any NPC-collecting List.
Instead, make an exception-List, so that Player-created NPCs won't get added(including the GuildPage, that's also player-summoned)
Jeeves: http://eu.battle.net/wow/de/item/49040
Maybe the JunkBot too: http://eu.battle.net/wow/de/item/40769
Field Repair Bot 110G: http://eu.battle.net/wow/de/item/34113
and Guild Page: http://eu.battle.net/wow/de/item/65361
when update for 4.3?
OK, i installed in manually and it worked. Just a client bug i guess. Thanks for the update!
Cool. There should be a nice upgrade for most of you in database contents with this release.
This is all thanks to my data contributors. You know who you are :)
In fact, Azeroth should be very well covered now. There are 10-15 quests missing from Hinterlands (Alliance), and dungeons is not well included yet, but apart from that - Azeroth is pretty much covered for quests.
We're also closing in on 10.000 mobs, all with loot.
We're still not quite where we were before Cataclysm, but it's getting close.
Keep the data coming.
PS: try "/lcdc ?" and "/lcdc stats".
It won't unzip for some reason.
Okay. The v1.34d2 r2 is a repack of v1.34d2. No more, no less. The problem was as pointed out in the comments here that there was a file with the same name as a directory in the file. A few systems will handle that fine, and sadly mine did so I didn't spot it.
Sorry for the inconvenience, people. It should be okay now.
(when it propagates from curseforge, that is)
Curse is not opening the zip says unzipping falled. I tried to manually download it and unzip it and it gets stuck on Duckmod_widgets folder and says theres already a folder with that name. I tried unzipping to a New Folder to the same end.
I just can't duplicate it. I have Win XP and Ubuntu available for testing, and it works with no problems at all on both of them. I am not using the Curse updater, so this is manual install.
If anyone coupld duplicate this error it might help. I seem unable to duplicate it.
To be honest I don't like it at all. Unity I used for several minutes before I switched. And now Gnome 3 is almost as bad as Unity. I mean - who in their right mind would remove the option to create shortcuts (launchers) on the desktop for a desktop system?
Of course it gets very neat and clean (as the developers were going for) when you refuse the users to put anything visible anywhere.
I like my shortcuts. If I have to first open the software, which I have to do with first opening a menu, then maneuver to where it is, then start the software. And when it has started, I have to go for "open" and find whatever I need opened.
I'd rather have my shortcuts back. A double click, and software opens with the documents or (in case of git) pointing to the directory I need.
I mean - when Windows (!) provides more customization options than your system, then you are on the wrong track. Advanced, heavy stuff, like shortcuts.
No, I'm no big fan of Unity or Gnome 3.
Ok I fixed it for manually downloading. For some reason when it extracted it created a file called DuckMod_Widgets and the folder wouldn't copy over because a folder can't overwrite a file I guess. I deleted the file and it copyed over fine. Curse still isn't unzipping it properly though. Its probly yet another Random Windows Feature™ (bug). Im using win7x64
On another note, How do you like the new Ubuntu? I hate it. I just don't like the unity ui or Gnome 3. :(
zip fail?
Did you have the same problem as Kelvryn?
Shouldn't be. At least when I download it myself, it opens nicely with a single directory for the files.
but think you mistaken what I was asking..
can the balloon tooltip go in to the info tooptip(think it's info)
here is a link plz. look at tictac ( http://wow.curse.com/downloads/packs/13747/default.aspx ) but still help with info.. just don't like tip in the middle of screen. kind of like mobinfo mod does but mobinfo don't get mining or skining done right- your does.. I glad about that. as it rly help's my hunter out with skining.
or is there a option I'm missing for that you have in mod.. not sure
