About Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sharedmedia.aspx

I'm using this addon on my shaman, and I'm having one problem. i cant right click the temporary weapon enchants away. I have to show the original buff bar (Blizzard one) to click them away. I've tried using macros to take them off but none work anymore.

One thing that would allow me to use this addon almost exclusively for timers is the ability to track traps, especially freezing trap: primed and trapped. I find I use another addon that tracks everything this one will but only for the trap feature. Thx. I am trying to hack it myself...

is there any possibility to add consecration as a buff icon since using Shadowed it removes the default cons tracker icon that is usually below the default portrait

I've been having some issues with the blizzard buffs showing back up during fights, I've disabled the blizzard buff through /ebb config and it keeps on coming back. Any ideas?

I'm having a problem that's been frustrating me for a while. I made sure I had the latest version of this addon installed (2.3.1 - r167). Let's say I'm in combat and I pop ice block.. I'm not able to right click the "Iceblock" buff to get rid of it - it forces me to stay in ice block the full duration. Am I doing something wrong or did Blizz change something? Would love to get this working.

hey elk, how do you re-enable elk minimap button? cause i've looked and i just don't see an option in /ebb config so

although i do see "show minimap tracking frame" but thats not "display ebb button"
  • #1731
    /ebb hide off

Had an issue figuring that out too, this will re-enable your minimap button.

    Hi,

I am getting a similar error to one of the posters below and cannot seem to figure out what it is. The LUA message pops up upon login, and the AddOn will not function at all. I have cleared my AddOns folder, as well as my SavedVariables and done a fresh download and install of EBB, but am still getting the same error. Since no other AddOns are installed at the moment, we can rule out the issue being related to other AddOns using the libraries as you mentioned in your response. I installed and ran bugcatcher/bugsack, and here is everything it listed:

1x ElkBuffBars-2.3.1-166\EBB_BarGroup.lua:119: attempt to call method 'ToggleAnchor' (a nil value)
    AceAddon-2.0-91100 (ElkBuffBars):979: in function
    : ?
    AceEvent-2.0-91097 (ElkBuffBars):260: in function `TriggerEvent'
    AceEvent-2.0-91097 (ElkBuffBars):910: in function

    nil

    Locals:
    nil

Any help or insight as to what is going on would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

I am having a serious issue with the addon for some reason. I was using it for couple of months before this new patch came out, until out of the blue the addon simply stopped to function for an entirely unseen reason. I let it go because I was very busy IRL, but now that I have more free time I tried to download the newer version, and the issue persists. Any ideas/thoughts about configuration of the game that I might've done wrong? Any slash commands I can type ingame that could force it to display unless there was installing issue?
  • #1723
I'm not exactly sure what isn't working here, but concerning slash commands, try "/ebb" or "/ebb config". Also, if you aren't using the r166 beta, make sure you activated "load out of date addons". You could also try to delete the addon's saved variables to reset it to initial settings if the other things didn't help.

I tried the suggestions, and it worked. Guess somehow it went into suspend mode which I didn't even notice existed in the addon. Cheers for the assistance, love the addon.

Got a little problem: wanted to add a new group where all buffs with less then 40 seconds will be shown. But it shows the timeless buffs too. If i try to set the filter of timeless buffs to whitelist and add a buff i never will have and won't disturb me it does not show the other buffs with less then 40 seconds eighter...
