About Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sharedmedia.aspx

    Would it be possible to give us the option of having a non-sorted secure frame and a sorted non-secure frame? That way I can have my main buff/debuff listing and be able to click off and then have my custom frames that I use to watch specific buffs.

    Elkano, can you please put the tracking back in? It's still nice to see at a glance what you are tracking.
  • #1467
    like Viper said, since you can now track anything you want at the same time, I see no point in it anymore besides the ability to change the settings from another position. But for that there's most likely a LDB plugin already.

    This posting is made of 100% recycled electrons.
  • #1462
    Why? You can track multiple items at once now. It doesn't really matter what you are tracking now as you don't have to change it.
  • #1464
    It would still be nice to have. I have always used Elkano's to set my tracking and I turn the button off so it doesn't show on my minimap.

    Ok just to clarify for those thinking only the default Blizzard buff frame, is the only way to click buffs off. There is a new SecureAuraHeader for authors to use. Which enables them to include in their projects to allow users to click off buffs. What you can do with it is limited. Hence the word SecureAuraHeader. However clicking off buffs is one the features. All it takes is add-on authors implementing this new function.

    So all I will ask of EBB is when will SecureAuraHeader be added?
  • #1461
    Yeah I keep trying to click off Pumpkin Head for guildies and cant at the moment. I used to run this back in the day, swapped to Morgs bars but they havent been updated for 4.0.1 yet. So went back to these. Only problem I see so far is the not being able to click off debuffs.
  • #1468
    Yea, Pumpkin Head gets on my nerves. Its nice that I can see buffs debuffs and stuff ordered and grouped nicely again, but not being able to turn some of them off is anoying.
    That's my only problem with the addon right now. And I love it so much :(
    I just can't understand why this modifocations needed in the first place?
  • #1455
    Right clicking on the buffs does not disable the buff for some reason.

    Please see Milowen's comment below. :)
  • #1456
    I heard that the code was changed and it is currently not possible to dispel buffs thru addons, but you can do it thru the Blizz buff boxes. Have to wait for another update to do that
  • #1458
    See my post above and look up SecureAuraHeader.
  • #1454
    Works perfect for me however tryed only with my self buffs. Thanks for the update, this one of my favourite addons :)
  • #1453
    I keep getting LUA errors and I can't click on anything to configure my buffs. =[
  • #1452
    If you would like to be able to see blizzards buff ui while still using ElkBuffBars, you can edit ElkBuffBars.lue, on line 54 or somewhere near you will find:
    hidebuffframe = true,
    If you change this to false:
    hidebuffframe = false,
    It will enable the blizzard buff ui side-by-side, the reason for wanting to do this is so at least I have some way to right-click off my buffs.
