About Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under

Just 1 word: AWESOME! Exactly what i've been looking for. Everything highly configurable, good looking and low memory usage.

But only 1 thing that's annoying: When editing the Buffs, the list is very long. How about making 2 rows? I fear if the List gets too long that i can't setup the bars anymore because its bigger than my monitor :P

Why aren't people reading at least the description before asking... "After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place."

@ Foxfire you can uncheck option "show anchor" and bars will be locked

  • #105

Can you add a lock Funktion for the Bars ? I mean a Function, that make bars not movable.

What is the difference between Elks BuffBar (r26541 @WoWAce) and Elks BuffBars (r39466 @WoWAce)?

  • #103

it would be cool if you could incoperate this into a box and just be able to scroll threw it with your mouse wheel instead of having like half the screen filled with buffs. L o V e the mod

    Awesome addon

  • #101

i have seen ppl using this addon and i rekon its gr8, but when i try 2 enable it in WoW it says its outdated. how do i get the updated version?

any help would be appreciated thanx

  • #100

rly like this addon however i was woundering if u cud make it availavle in different colours? the blue overlay is nice its just it stands out alot as the rest of my ui is all black. Great work though ^^

  • #99

Is there a way to make profiles with different toons ? If not you should think about doing that, its really handy if you keep your buffs in different places like i do.

  • #98

Is there a way to add a nice pretty border around the buff square?

  • #97

can you separate debuffs from buffs?

  • #96

yes and no. With WoW 2.1.0 time info on these debuffs is available via API and EBB will use that data if you set up a buff/debuff group for the target. Besides that I won't add code to make it track these spells since there are other addons dedicated to that task eg Chronometer.
