About EPGPLootmaster

EPGP Lootmaster

EPGP Lootmaster provides a nice GUI for distributing loot and GP to the raid. It sends a popup and a message to all raid members with the question wether they want the loot or not and sends this response to the master looter. The ML gets a nice list of every raider's choices sorted by EP/GP (more info on EPGP here). <center></center>

Whisper system

This mod nolonger requires everyone in your raid to install it! Raid members can now just whisper the master looter with a simple message: /w masterlooter !epgp need/greed/pass [itemlink] This, however, will not send the current equipment to the master looter ui. It's still strongly suggested that everyone installs the mod, but it's nolonger mandatory. The master looter, of course, still needs to install it ;)

Installation

Just copy the epgp_lootmaster and epgp_lootmaster_ml directories from the zipfile to your addons directory or use the Curse Installer. When you configure your addons in wow you'll get two entries:
  • EPGP LootMaster - Core: Everyone in raid needs to enable this.
  • EPGP LootMaster - ML: Only Master Looter needs to enable this, most raiders will probably get dependency missing because EPGP isn't installed. This is no problem, just leave it disabled. The Master Looter however does need to install EPGP.

Config

/lm options for some basic options.
  • Auto announce threshold: sets what kind of item raid members automatically get to see.
  • Auto looter: sets a raid members that will automatically receive BoE and BoU items below the threshold (for disenchantment or bank).
  • Listen for incoming monitor updates: Enabling this will make your client listen from updates from the master looter. It will show you the exact same interface as the master looter. This way you could help deciding who gets the loot.

Use

Just install this mod on every raid member. Set someone up a master looter. As soon as the ML tries to loot something, epgp_lootmaster will detect it and will try to handle the distribution for you. epgp_lootmaster will also handle the GP distribution for you and should automatically disable the EPGP GP input popup. You can also manually disable this popup from the EPGP options panel. /lm version or /lm versioncheck This will show you an interface where you can see wether the members of your guild or raid have installed lootmaster and what version.

Additional functions

While it's not something that's endorsed by the EPGP system, EPGPLootmaster does have built in Voting and Bidding systems. You can configure these systems easily from the configuration panel (/lm config).

Bidding system

The bidding system allows players to place a custom GP bid for an item. The highest bidder wins the item. This works either by inputting your bid on the need/greed/pass selection popup, or by using the whisper system: /w masterlooter !epgp need [itemlink] [bid]

Voting system

The voting system allows the master looter to request help from the loot council to select a proper candidate for an item. This has been implemented because some guild want to use PR for the majority of their loot but sometimes they want to bypass and select a candidate manually, by placing votes. The configuration panel allows you to define who are the members of your loot council: either the assistants in your raid or a selection of ranks in your guild or both or everyone in your raid. You can configure as you see fit.

    So our guild has switched to EPGP LootMaster for all our raids and all the comments from our players are positive. Looting is now much faster, simpler and less stressful for the raid leader! Thanks again for an awesome add on.

    One thing I noticed when we were asking players to install this addon is that people got confused by the name for 2 reasons:

    1. EPGP LootMaster has a similar name to EPGP so some people installed EPGP or got confused by our previous advice that EPGP was only for the raid leaders.

    2. LootMaster sounds like something only the master looter needs to install.

    Once we got through those things, we managed to hassle all raiders into installing it. The "/lm version" command was a big help for this, especially the nice feature where clicking on a user sends them a whisper with the download details.

    I think this addon could become really popular. It's basically the right way to handle master looting.

    But to break through into a wider audience you would need to decouple it a bit from EPGP (although please keep the option of working with EPGP because that's a big help too for guilds like us that also use EPGP). And I suggest renaming it, maybe to "LootFaster". Because that was how we sold it to our guild, "10x faster raid looting".

    FYI: Im currently working on HeadCount support, auto pass on certain BoP items and a few other of your requests. The current alpha seems quite stable, ill make a beta available tonight.

    Hi! I have another suggestion for this great addon. :)
    It would be extremely cool to support HeadCount. Right now you can already assign loot for bank, disenchant or as free giveaway. But where is this info stored or used? We use HeadCount to track who got which items and it would be great if it would be possible to tell HeadCount if the item was for bank or disenchanting. Do you know HeadCount and think this is possible?

    Your zoom feature on the vote responses is really cool but... I still only see a list with about 12 folks' responses. I was hoping I could actually see more responses at once, rather than make the existing window bigger or smaller... nice feature tho!

    Hi! EPGPLootmaster is great but I miss one thing. There is no timer in the Monitor-Window to see when the set time (1 minute default right now) is over for the need/greed/pass votes.
    Maybe you could add the timer-bar like in the need/greed/pass window into the monitor window?

    I can create such a timer bar on the window but it will not be very accurate. This is because it only decreases the timers on the clients when they are not in combat. I will make a timer bar on the monitor/lootmaster windows but it might hit zero faster than it does on the client windows, just keep that in mind ;)

    Eish, Areez, Vmax262: Perhaps i have should dedicate more documentation on this subject, but there is already a system implemented to see everyone's responses, notes, current equipment and rolls just like the ML. This is called the monitor system. The ML module sends these messages by default but the rest of the raiders do not listen for these messages by default. Open the EPGPLM options panel (/lm options) and scroll all the way to the bottom and enable "Listen for monitor messages". You can even specify what kind of item quality you wish to monitor. This will show the exact same window as the ML, only read-only.

    On Q2: this not implemented atm because there is too much data to store imho.

    Hope this is enough info for you guys. Expect more docs on the monitor system soon.

    Yeah, a way to show past history would help a lot. Sometimes people decide a couple minutes after loot is done that the new loot they got isn't really what they want. It would be very helpful to be able to go back and see what the numbers looked like on that item, so it can more easily go to the right person. Even if the history is only the past 10 items or something. Ideally the number of past items would be a configuration option.

    Great addon, makes the ML's job alot easier although, as per Areez's post, i second Q1.

    Would be extremely helpful if the entire raid could see the response window, a read only version ofcourse :)

    Then I have some questions: our raid members had some trouble with the fact that they could not see the ML window, so they could not see where the Master looter was basing his decisions upon.

    -Q1 Is there a way to pop up the ML screen at any time for any raid member?
    -Q2 Is it possible to look back in history of previous loots?
