nice work i like this addon

but by the way is there an way to add musicstreams from internet or musicstramfiles like *.aspx or *.pls

if no maybe its an idea to add such an function that we cann add a list of radio streams? it will be nice
  • #758
No sorry, Blizzard does not want us to be able to do that.
  • #736
Wow will NOT let you interface with ANYTHING outside the wow exe or the wow folder..... this is why the music either has to given to the addon by placing it in the addon folder or creating complicated symbolic links from within windows which is risky...... its part of the EULA and TOS you agreed to!

Couple issues I had. Music stops whenever you zone. Music seems to start and stop randomly while in combat.

I do a lot of random dungeons while leveling up alts and every time I enter or exit the dungeon the music stops. Any way you can fix this or is it something on Blizz? If you can fix these two issues I'll start using the addon, otherwise I'll just have to stick with MPC and pick a long playlist.

on this issue it happens its a blizz thing. The game itself compiles all the sounds going on at the time the problem is that with something like this it uses the ingame music channel not its own sound channel(which is difficult to set-up). So when theres a big battle or you zone it stops or resets the music because the games program resets the ingame music when you zone or get into heavy combat. Aparently most people never notice this but this add-on uses the default game music channel so the game treats it like its the default game music player. In order to fix that you would have to find a way to program the add-on to ignore or override WoW's default music controler. So thats why it does that its not a issue with the add-on or you its the game itself.

just listen to the defualt backround music(a.k.a. turn the music player off)and you will notice when you get into combat where theres alot going on the ingame music stops, and when you zone the music resets. its just how Blizz set it up as a defualt for the game.

Anybody ever told you that you over explain things? All you had to do was say it uses the in-game music channel.

I don't know much about using sound channels with an addon, would it be possible to use another sound channel instead? For instance, you'll notice that anytime an npc is talking (ie, playing a dialog sound file) it is never interrupted by combat or zoning. Is it possible to use whatever channel that's used for?
  • #731
ok i have 1 problem and one suggestion to make this a awsome addon add sub catagories like artist ect. if its possible make the wow reverb effect not effect it and one issue was music stoping when i zoned and repeating song after song was over plz

BRAKKIS scroll over it P.S. awsome job even w/o the sub catagories ooo and sry i cant spell for crap

Well both your issues are talked about in the post above this, since it uses the default sound channel it cannot be made exempt from the blizzard environment unless I completely don't understand their environment programming. The sound reset issue is also the same deal, since the sound is running on a blizz channel they have it set up to interrupt music instead of effects or npc speaches, so the music can't be programmed to do something that blizz doesn't want their music channel to do. If it used a dif channel it may wind up workin differently, but at this point it doesn't.

My problem is this. It sets my music volume to 0 so I don't hear anything and I can't find any kind of volume bar to turn it up.
  • #730
Haha, you hover over it with your mouse and scroll up and down.
  • #728
Hey, question.. I downloaded it manually, and it seems the real music doesn't work. BUT the text and Game music works. got any suggestions?
  • #727
got one that will work with a mac ?
  • #725
    I like the addon BUT,

Please fix the interruptions in the music.
