About ErrorFilter

About ErrorFilter

Are you fed up with the silly errors that spam your screen? Want to get rid of "Not enough rage" or "Not enough energy"? Then you have come to the right place. ErrorFilter manages the errors that are displayed in the blizzard UIErrorsFrame. It can be set to hide the ErrorFrame completely, drop all errors or filter the messages and discard those selected.

Slash Commands

Use "/erf" or "/ErrorFilter" to open the options menu.

Here you can select the operation mode and change the errors that are filtered.

Conflicts

Other addons can interfere with the game's error frame and mess up ErrorFilter's functionality.

Known problems:

  • ElvUI -> go to options, "General" section, and disable "Hide Error Text"

Great addon, works just as intended!

Noticed, purely by coincidence, that there is no way to turn off the error: "target is too low level" (saw it when I accidentally tried to cast Guardian Spirit on a low level NPC). Not that I need it at all, just thought I'd point that out :)

    I'm glad you like it!

You can add any text you like to the list of filtered messages. Check the options menu '/erf', go to 'Filter only' submenu and add your text in the field at the top of the options menu, then press Enter.

    Its not working for me.

Just tested on a live EU realm and it works as intended.

You could try to delete the WTF file to reset the settings. Also you could have some other addon that modifies the game frame displaying the error messages. Try it with no other addon runningto test this posibility.

Can you disable the spam sounds with this add on as well?
  • #75
you can do that in the blizzard options
  • #77
Indeed your only option is to disable sounds from the options menu. I did try to filter sounds as well by dynamically disabling and enabling sounds but it doesn't work well.

    Cool add-on, works pretty well.

Just on a side note, the categories for this download should probably be "Chat & Communication" (as is) and then "Miscellaneous" without the other 3 (Rogue, Death Knight, Warrior) or is there any particular reason you chose to include them (just wondering)? To me, the only next-viable category there is seems to be "Artwork" (although this doesn't really make sense either).

Keep up the nice work though.
    Cheers. :)

Those tags remained there from the beginning since it had only a few hardcoded strings like 'not enough energy' 'not enough rage' which were specific to those classes. I'll update it.

It will be included in the release for patch 4.2, most probably on July 21.

Hmm, still seems to have issues with Errorfilter, I can set it to filter all errors. But as soon I relog, they return, even if hide all errors is still selected. I then have to uncheck it and check it again to hide all errors anew everytime i login.

Errormonster is able to kill the error messages and keep them hidden without having to recheck them on every login.

Any help with this? id rather prefer to block individual error messages, but with errorfilter not saving the settings..

You probably have another addon that interferes by changing the UIErrorsFrame behaviour. If you run only ErrorFilter does it work properly?
