About EuroDating
Crazy American date formats driving you insane? This addons lets you remain (relatively) sane by using European formats (YY-MM-DD or DD-MM-YY) instead.
Type '/ed' or '/eurodating' to toggle between the two formats.
Currently includes achievement, archaeology and guild news dates.
If you know of something in the (default) UI that still uses the crazy ways, please let me know!
- You can now toggle between YMD and DMY by typing '/ed' or '/eurodating'.
- Changed guild news dates to DD/MM.

What a pity, at least Blizz should be consistent alone, not mention that many addons, which handle it alone (I think). Should be the best a general date format and all places, even addons will use it. Dreams-dreams.

I wanted to do that, but in some places they already add the 20, so you'd get 202011-11-21, for example.
Thank you for your addon, YY-MM-DD format is way better for me too.
If you make it YYYY-MM-DD then it will be the perfect one, not letting any confusion for dates like 10-12-11, is it 2010-december 11th or, 2011 October 12th or even 2011 december 10th :-)
New version pending approval now. You can toggle formats using /ed or /eurodating. Also added the guild news change. Comment this out (line 12 in Core.lua, put two dashes at the start of the line) if you don't want it.
In retrospect I'll admit that this might not actually have been the most common EU format, but it's the format that I am used to and prefer. :)
I'm in the process of making it configurable, though.

EU Date is DD-MM-YY in my opinnion..

glad you like it! To be honest I'm a bit reluctant to add any sort of options to it, much less a GUI, (even though I think it would be neat) simply because then all the options code itself would make up 90% of the addon. I will look into it and do *something*, though. Maybe let you edit a line in the code where you specify which format you prefer.
Thats great, thanks. Just a thought, *IF* you were to put an config option in, very basic, what about a drop down style bar with (and im not very good at drawing)

[EU Date] YY-MM-DD
[UK Date] DD-MM-YY
And what about reloading the ui after (i dont mind), or as you suggested (just edit the lua file instead)
Yeah, I wasn't sure about the guild news at first. I was mainly looking for stamps where the year was included, but I'll fix that too. Edit: Or no, I'll leave it out for now. You can fix it yourself, though, by pasting this in the Lua file:
The "News" tab of the guild is using them.
Good idea.
Not essential, but very pleasing on the eye.
