About EventNotifier

This addon is designed to maximize the player's productivity or multitasking ability. When activated, the addon will monitor any or all the following in-game events depending on your configuration:

  • Ready check
  • LFG queue
  • Battleground/Arena queue
  • Group invite
  • Summon request
  • Blizzard GM contacts
  • Resurrection requests
  • Role checks, both for raids and when somebody attempts to queue for a dungeon (separate options).
  • Wintergrasp/Tol Barad invite

When these events are fired in game, the addon will temporarily enable all sound options and play a raid warning sound, so you don't miss out even when the game is minimized.

User Interface

The addon can be activated and customized using the minimap button:

  • Left-click icon to toggle on/off.
  • Shift+Left-click to move the icon around the map border.
  • Right-click to open context menu.
  • Left-click an option in the context menu to enable or disable it.

By default, the addon will mute all sounds in game when activated, and will automatically deactivate after the first event is detected. The addon can be configured via a number of options to not disable after detecting an event, to not mute sound while it's active, or to enable itself automatically. A slash command interface (/en) is also available for users who wish to program the functionality of this addon into their own macros.

If you find that using this addon has saved you lots of precious time, please do not hesitate to demonstrate your appreciation by making a small donation, giving me encouragement to further contribute to the WoW community. After all, "Time is money, friend!"

This is my first addon project. Please feel free to try the addon. Feedback is always welcome, especially if you'd like to suggest more use cases and events for this addon to monitor.

  • Added an option to automatically enable the addon when it's loaded.

    • Use "/en gui" to toggle display of the minimap icon.

Wow okay tons of stuff I have been busy with university I am so sorry.

#7creature: I am not seeing these. I am sorry.

#tlundse I'd prefer to just integrate into the addon UI in the interface menu, but we can agree on our dislike for the button.

Any chance of fixing of recent issues (mostly errors upon entering instances and then WorldMap, CompactRaidFrame and CompactUnitFrame errors)?

  • #25

LDB instead of minimap icon would be nice :)

  • #22

Any chance for a option that repeatedly plays the sound like an alarm clock until you click the minimap button? This mod is exactly what I have been looking for for months.

  • #23

Sure, it certainly wouldn't be default because it'd be really annoying but yes. I don't know when I'll get around to it.

  • #24

That would be awesome. I know for most users this would be annoying, but I like to alt tab and listen to music loudly, and sometimes the single alert doesn't catch my attention through the noise, even with WoW sound set to maximum. Even so, this mod is great and I'm glad I found it.

As of 4.3, MAX_BATTLEFIELD_QUEUES constant is nil, for now it has to be replaced by function GetMaxBattlefieldID() to get corresponding number in the script.

Ok, I'll try to get to that tonight.  I've been swamped with finals so I don't have any time right now.  Thanks for the tip!

should work now, let me know if you find any issues.

    I suggest you to change PlaySound("RaidWarning") to PlaySound("RaidWarning","Master");
  • #17
Good call, I'll make a note of it, I think yuluns is going to do the next version, but I'll send him an email.

I found a bug in versioning, it will likely only affect users who were using the event I removed ( Time_Played_Msg ) but users are still encouraged to delete their saved variables per character to work around this bug. It won't actually harm anyone unless they had that event (disabled by default required command line) enabled when they upgraded. It will be fixed in the next version or so.

Hello. I wished to let you guys know that I've been quite busy with life/job/etc but I have finally found time to work on this again. I spent some time and fixed the issue with multiple raid warning sounds for battleground queues, and tomorrow I should have time to throw in the rest of what I want to do for the next version which is persist through logout feature, alert for WG/TB, and further down on my list are re-doing the icon and adding in GM would like to speak with you message to the alerts since we all know that "Soon" can be hours when waiting for a GM and if you tab out you'll miss it. I've got very little to do at work tomorrow so I should have some time to tinker.

1.40 is now live. Check the notes when downloading for information on the many many changes in this version. I believe everything is good for 1.4 please let us know if you have any issues or suggestions in the comments!

I don't want to have to turn this addon before I walk away. I want it always on. But I don't want to be constantly bothered by a blinking minimap addon.

So my feature request is for another option, "enable always" which will colour the button green and not blink it, and this option persists between logins.

Are you able to make a slash command to make the gui come up because for some reason the minimap button doesn't show up on the minimap in nUI
