About Fishing Buddy

Fishing Buddy
-------------

A fishing addon that keeps track of the fish you catch and helps manage your fishing gear.

Features:
- Double-click fishing
- Supports the new WoW "fish without a pole" feature
- Bring out your fishing pets! Drink heavily!
- 'Fish Watcher' lets you see the fish you've caught here before (or the fish that you've caught in the current session)
- Display your current skill level and the time since you started fishing
- Choose your fishing outfit and change into it easily
- Support for automatically adding a lure to your fishing pole
- Support for tracking 'cycle fish' such as the Nightfin Snapper so you know when to go looking for them

Example commands:
/fishingbuddy or /fb
toggle the display of the Fishing Buddy window
/fb help
print the list of Fishing Buddy commands
/fb switch
wear your chosen fishing outfit, or change back

Silly stuff:
In addition to displaying the fishing bonus for your fishing outfit, it also displays your 'style points' as inferred from Draznar's Fishing FAQ (http://wow.toshimo.com/viewtopic.php?t=272).

Fishing Buddy Plugins:
Outfit Manager - http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/fboutfit
Fish Tracking --http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/fishing-buddy-tracking
Broker: Fishing Buddy -- http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/broker-fishing-buddy

3. If your unzip program doesn't let you specify the destination, then find your WoW folder (where it was installed) and drag the 'FishingBuddy' folder into the 'Interface/AddOns' folder.

First time user of this addon, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong or maybe I misunderstand the text. I thought FB would auto cast for you after it loots a catch. If it is intended to be able to do this it is not working for me. On the Fishing Tab I do have Easy Cast enabled along with the lures enabled and on the right side I have Use Action checked. My Fishing Icon is positioned on the number 0 on the keyboard above the letters not the number pad.

You shouldn't need to use the "Action" feature -- it was added because of a bug in the German version of the client (I left it in just in case).

FB can no longer re-cast immediately after looting -- Blizz changed the way things work many versions ago, and they now require a "hardware event", i.e. a real mouse click or key press, before any action. Looting is an action, as well as casting, so you can't do both with one mouse click.

With the advent of the requirement for secure frames to perform in-game actions, single click fishing becomes infeasible because there is no way to "turn it off". Hence double click fishing, which currently uses a "trick" to allow a secure button to appear temporarily to cast fishing and then hides so that "regular clicking" still works.

    Fishing Buddy 1.2i

    - Fix for Equipment Manager event misunderstanding
    - Updated Russian translation (thanks Turbid121!)

This should also fix the "double-click not working" issues for people who use the Equipment Manager for outfit swapping.

If you use FB_OutfitDisplayFrame, there are some fixes in version 1.2i of the plugin as well.

Hey, thanks for the update. However I still have double-click issue only in 'Vale of Eternal Blossoms'. When I have 'quick lure' enabled. Double click only works for the first catch then fail afterwards. I guess thats due to my fishing skill was 785 not yet reached the requirement of 825 in Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

I Have made a short video for this issue. Please kindly take a look when you are free.

Version 1.2i should fix this issue -- it turns out that the Equipment Manager event for "swap done" fires just a little earlier than expected. :-)

Hi, I just did the new update and for some reason the double right click easy cast is not working now?  Maybe I'm missing something?  Easy Cast is checked on options...?

I'm having the same problem.   I equip my fishing outfit (Weatherbeaten hat and tuskarr pole)  and Fishing buddy will not activate until I do a reload OR unwield my fishing pole.   It's like the addon is confused about what state it's in.

Thank you for the report, version 1.2i should fix this!
