About Flump

If you like this addon, I recommend checking out my other raid announce addon, Fatality.

Flump is a simple addon which announces raid cooldowns/portals/feasts and more to a specified channel.

This addon was originally made solely for use by my guild, but after having several requests to upload it publicly, I decided to do so. We've been using it for a few years now and have added what we consider to be the main raid cooldowns/abilities, but if we've missed something which you consider to be important, or similarly don't consider important, leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.

If you have any other ideas/suggestions, let me know!

  • Toggle on/off in-game: /flump
  • Full list of options: /flump list

Only works inside Raid/Party instances.

v1.2.8 | moop | Friday, 3rd February, 2012
- Added an option to enable Flump inside LFR instances. This is enabled by default, type /flump lfr to disable.
- Cauldrons: Changed the wording of announcements from "Player created a Cauldron" to "Player is creating a Cauldron", since cauldrons have a cast time and and are not placed when the event fires.
- Priests: Added Lightwell.
- Tanks: Added Dream from the Madness of Deathwing encounter.

v1.2.7 | moop | Thursday, 12th January, 2012
- A few more bug fixes/code cleanups.

v1.2.6 | moop | Saturday, 7th January, 2012
- Fix a minor bug introduced in v1.2.5 where if the user entered an instance with Flump disabled, then enabled it, it wouldn't register correctly.

v1.2.5 | moop | Tuesday, 3rd January, 2012
- Flump's enabled/disabled option is now stored globally, meaning that if it's changed on one character, it'll be changed for all characters. Other settings remain character-specific.

v1.2.4 | moop | Thursday, 29th December, 2011
- Death Knight: Added Anti-Magic Zone.
- Hunter: Announce the Hunter's name (instead of the pet's) when Ancient Hysteria is used.
- Items: Added Mirror of Broken Images ("Image of Immortality") announcement.
- Tanks: Announcements are no longer sent based on a minimum health threshold. Instead, tanks must be either assigned (using roles) or promoted (using Blizzard's MT option) for their cooldowns to be announced.

v1.2.3 | moop | Wednesday, 30th November, 2011
- Report players as "Player" instead of "Player-Realm" inside Raid instances.

v1.2.2 | moop | Tuesday, 29th November, 2011
- Saved variables are now stored per character, which means you'll have to reconfigure your settings on each character you have Flump enabled on.
- Fix announcements for Divine Plea. It should now only be announced when used by a healer.
- Increased the threshold for a tank's minimum health (180k) and healer's minimum mana (80k). These values should be adjusted to better suit your raid's gear level.
- Bump TOC to 40300.

v1.2.1a | moop | Wednesday, 31st August, 2011
- Added an option to announce the use of mana cooldowns (Divine Plea/Hymn of Hope/Innervate/Mana Tide Totem). This is enabled by default, type /flump manacd to disable.

Do i still use the lua to toggle off and on which abilities i want announced? The in-game menu only shows party, plea, fade, tricks, health, mana, and announce options as changeable.
  • #30
That's correct. The in-game options only control how the addon works, not which abilities are announced - those are still controlled by manually editing the Lua file.

In future, I might consider including additional in-game options to control which abilities are announced, though it's a more complicated process and requires a bit more work, so, at the moment, it's not a high priority.

I can't for the love of me get anything to show up. I have a raid of two in firelands to test it and non of the abilities are showing up.

output1 is "RAID" and channel1 is "FlumpReports".
I hadn't used it before 4.2 so i honestly have no idea if i'm doing anything wrong or not.

Do i need to be on a boss, in combat, or something else i havent though of?
  • #32
It depends which abilities you were testing, since the majority of cooldowns are isolated to only announcing when the caster is in combat (e.g. Shield Wall), though there are other abilities (e.g. Feasts) which work both in and out of combat.

It's worth noting that if an ability is a "Tank/Healer cooldown", it will only be announced if the caster is above the Health/Mana thresholds which can be seen in '/flump list'.

Oh, and another thing, it's only relevant what channel1/channel2 are set to if output1/output2 are set to CHANNEL, respectively, otherwise it's irrelevant.

    Very nice thing.
  • #23
Oops, ive missreaded the addon info. Then my question is..
Is it possible to make this imba addon for a party/dungeon aswell? :D
  • #24
Currently, no, but it's not the first time someone has requested it, so I'll be sure to include it in the next update!
  • #25
Wow thanks alot man for the feedback.
It would be very nice yea, keep it up! :D
  • #22
Heey, first of all i wanna thank u alot for this great addon! Its very lovely for when raiding. But how do i get working this on a party for like in dungeons?
Keep it up the good work.
  • #20
Would be nice if output could be routed to a custom in game channel. So it doesn't spam the party or raid.
  • #21
This is already possible. Open Flump.lua and do the following:

If you want to report to yourself only, set:

    local OUTPUT = "SELF"

...or, if you want to report to a custom channel that people can join if they are interested in the reports, set:

    local OUTPUT = "CHANNEL"
    local CHANNEL_NAME = "your_channel_name"

    Hope this helps!

Great addon, I personally added Innervate and Guardian spirit to the listing. Was curious I changed the reporting to our healer channal is their a way to make it function in groups like fatality does, or it purely raid only?
  • #19
disregard that thing about making it party only
  • #14
Any chance this will be fixed for 4.1? Super useful addon that's been a huge help for raid leading.
  • #15
Just uploaded v1.1.5, it should be available for download soon.

I don't currently have an active World of Warcraft subscription, so if there are any spells added in 4.1 that are worth including in Flump, let me know and I'll see what I can do!
