About Fortress

Fortress is a display addon for LDB data feeds. It shows each plugin as a block, which is freely movable and can stick to other blocks. Blocks can be unstuck by holding the ctrl-key while dragging them.

Commands:
Use /fortress or /ft to open the configuration (also accessible via Main Menu -> Interface -> Addons -> Fortress).

Configuration:
The configuration has two parts: The master settings and the individual plugin settings. At first each option is controlled by the master settings and therefore it has the same effect for each plugin. Once you change something individually for one plugin, this setting is no longer controlled by the master mode (for this plugin).
You can select the mode for each option at the "Select master" tab in each plugin's config screen.

Yeah the same question here: Is there any possibility to unblock certain plugins?

In my case I stuck one Plugin A to Plugin B when Plugin C was disabled and Plugin C had the same position. Now, when both are enabled they are at the same position... very annoying...

Is there a simple solution to resetting some blocks hidden behind default frames (in my case the action bars) back to the center so they can be moved somewhere else?
  • #42
When I try to create an empty block, I don't see anything. Sometimes a get a lua error, but usually the addon does nothing.
I'm typing in a name, like "bb01", pressing OK and have the check box to show the names on.

Please include the "Fortress Launcher" in this addon.

Just a quick question...why does the tooltip "strobe light"* when I hover over an object in the Fortress Display

*the Alpha seems to change from about 75% to 100% every millisecond; as I move the cursor around (inside the box) it'll achieve 100% opaqueness in certain areas and strobe-light in others.

Are you no longer updating Fortress on the wowinterface site?
  • #39
The 1.14 version should be available at wowinterface soon. It's a manual update process there, so I tend to need a bit more time.
  • #36
Suggestion: add a LDB feed for Fortress.
  • #37
I created one as a optional addon: http://www.wowace.com/addons/fortresslauncher/

I was testing this after using Fubar for years -- am confused as to why, after saving each one of my toons' profile, when I start the game, all the blocks appear running vertically down the center of my screen. It's a serious pain to stop and reconfigure each time I change toons....am I missing some secret save command? Resetting and reloading the profile, copying a profile from a previously saved toon, etc., doesn't help. I'd like to know if I'm missing something, doing something wrong. Thanks!

I had a similar issue when i switched originally. After the switch I didn't have it happen.

Thats very strange, how do you exit WoW? The configuration may not be saved (sometimes) when you just close it via Alt-F4.
Otherwise, please check whether the folder World of Warcraft\WTF or World of Warcraft\WTF\\SavedVariables are somehow write-protected.
Normally the configuration should be saved without any need to think about it...

Simple question: how to unlock an item from a block?

  • #32
I love your addon but you could put on the confing info that you need to hold CTRL to divide 2 elements ; ).

Btw great addon thank you for your job.

I've switched from Titan Panel. This is a great addon. My only problem is that I've customized it to use X-Perl borders and I think that Fortress is loading before X-Perl, as I always have to go into Fortress and change any setting in order to force a refresh after I load the UI. This is needed even after a reload, not just the first time. If that's what's causing this, is it be possible to refresh Fortress after everything's loaded, say during "PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD" or "VARIABLES_LOADED" events?
