About Friend & Ignore Share

Features:
  • Creates a global friends list, boot strapped by the current friends of each alt you log in as.
  • Adds friends that are in the global friends list who are not friends of the currently logged on alt.
  • Adding a new friend adds it to the global list which will transfer it to your other alts as you log them in.
  • Removing a friend removes it from the global list and will remove it from your alts as you log them in.
  • Tracks your alts and adds them to the global list of friends so that your alts show up as friends (for name completion at the mailbox). Can be turned off with '/fs alts off'.
  • The global friends list is partitioned by server and faction (Horde or Alliance). PvE servers allow you to have alts in both factions, but they can't be friends.
  • /friendshare reset - Resets the global friend list to the current alts friend list. Useful if the global list gets corrupt (never seen that happen).
  • /fs import - imports the global friends list (again). Usefull if some global friends were not imported b/c you had too many friends already.
  • Syncronizes your ignore lists across your alts as well. Players have to be online to be ignored so you may get 'player not found' messages at login when trying to syncronize ignores.
  • /is import - imports the global ignore list (again). Useful if someone you have on your global ignore list logs in.

To get started just log in each of your alts. From that point on, all your alts will share a global friends list and a global ignore list.

This MOD should work fine reguardless of the WoW client language; however, it does have one or two messages that could be localized.

    Sorry for the delay.

I have applied Sargonan's patch which supports WoW 4.0.1 including the new 100 friends limit (up from 50).

    woohoo

Vimrasha, I've fixed this to run with patch 4.0, and tested that it works with more than 50 friends, I have 96 and they are all being saved and added to my alts.

Do you have someplace I can send you the zip file to check out?

I don't want to take over the addon, just something I really wanted to use so gave it a go at fixing for patch 4.x.

Since I don't play WoW anymore, I will not be adding any new features like syncing notes. Sorry.

As for the new limit, the patch 3.3.5 notes state: "Ignore list expanded to 50 to match the friends list." This indicates that the friends list is still limited to 50. I also did some Google searching and could not find any indication that the limit had been raised.

Maybe someone could take over this mod from you?

Seeing as you've quit wow, are still going to be updating this mod for 4.0? I love this mod and I've not come across anything else like it.

Nice Addon, but I have two request.
    1) Sync Notes for friends too.
    2) Since the 3.3.5 patch, the friends list limit is 100, not 50. So, please modify this value in your code at FriendShare.lua:177 and FriendShare.lua:192.

Thank you and sorry for my english.

yes it would help if the 100 limit is used :p , and is there a way to keep your list separate from say horde ignore list and ally one's ? , because i removed 1 on ally and its keep coming back on horde side everytime i log on

How can I remove someone from my global Ignore list? I added to twits in a random , from a dif server then mine and i keep tring to remove them but everytime I log on they get added again.

I am having the same problem. I meant to invite someone in my guild to a group but put them on ignore instead. I removed him immediately, but now every time I log off and back on, he is back on ignore. How to I remove him from the ignore list permanently? I never had this problem before so I'm not sure what to do. Thank you.

This is one of my "must have" addons. thank you, Vimrasha. There is one bug however. It does not remove people from different realms from the ignore list. you can remove them, but they stay in the global list and get added back in.

Nice Addon, but it somehow always adds the character i last played to my friend list, so i play char1 than relog to char2 and it adds char1 to my friendlist wich ends in having all my own chars on my friend list after cycling through all my chars.
