About FuBar_GearRating

Gives one single number (GearRating) to indicate the quality of a character's gear.

I will eventually convert this to a Broker addon, but for now here is a v4.3 compatible version for Fubar.

I currently am using the "Fubar replacement for Fubar2Broker" and then "Fubar2Broker" to make this viewable as a Broker LDB.  Both addons are available via Curse.

Fubar_GearRating basically takes the sum of your iLevel for items, and applies factors depending on whether or not the item is green, blue, epic or legendary.

Greens currently get 80% of the iLvl for an item.
Blues get 92.5% of the iLvl for an item.
Epics get 100% of the iLvl for an item.
Legendary items get 130% of the iLvl for an item.

GR     = GearRating     ((TCIL2 / 12.585) * 1.3) + 1.3

TCIL2  = sum of all adjusted iLvl values

    For 2h wielding problems change RatingCalculate.lua

    fom:
    if (i == 17) and (self:GR_WeaponStrToInt(itemEquipLoc)==4) then
    tcil2 = tcil2 - (mhscore - (mhscore / self.GR_SlotFactor[16]))
    end

    to:
    if (i == 17) and (self:GR_WeaponStrToInt(itemEquipLoc)==4) then
    tcil2 = tcil2 - (mhscore - (ohscore / self.GR_SlotFactor[16]))
    end

    so it will work correctly at my german client. maybe the same error for other languages, still this addon is only english ^^

    Would it be possible to change the gear-rating to the mechanism blizzard uses to eval. the gear for vehicle-HP or maybe let the user choose which rating he wants to see? (or maybe simply show both, one of them in brackets?)

    The way blizz rates the gear is rather simple...
    They don't take into account shirt, offhand and relic-slot, so there would be 15 slots used of the 18 available...
    epic items will be counted according to their item-level, rare (blue) items will be rated 1 grade lower than their item-level and uncommon (green) items will be rated 2 grades lower...
    So an iLevel 213 epic would be rated as 213, iLevel 213 blue would be rated as 200 and iLevel 213 green would be rated as 187...

    that way you wouldn't have the trouble with 2 2h weapons and the gear-rating could be used to determine exactly who would get the most HP out of any vehicle...
    (blizzard gear rating - 200 equals the percentage of base-HP the vehicle gets added when you mount it)

    I hope my request wasn't too confusing :-)

    Whenever I use this to check party gear rating I get disconnected.
  • #14
    Hello,

    I don't have a solutions for this, but I answer cause I have the same problem.

    Often directly after calculating the gear score for party members or raid members I got a disconnect. Calculating the own gear rating is working fine.

    Im getting some 'Target Player Ratings' real high on fury warriors only. The gear the wear ranges from 200-226 yet they are getting ratings in the 240s. im guessing it has to do with that second 1h weapon, but is that normal/intended to get that high rating?
  • #12
    Yeah, the addon values 2 hand weapons too much if you got two 2H equiped.

    To get the same rating for two 1H weapon and one 2H weapon the addon multiplies the value of the 2H weapon with a certain factor. Now if you have Titans Grip and two 2H weapons equipped, you receive this bonus two times instead of no bonus like a char with two 1H.

    I have one lvl 187 item equipped and 3 lvl 213 items equipped. All other items are lvl 200. How can my gear rating be 199.6? Well I thought this is based on the item level of the equipped gear but it seems it is not so anyone able to explain how this really works?
  • #10
    Are some of those itemlevel 200 items blue (not epic)? Blue item-level 200 is not the same as epic item-level 200.

    A full explanation can be found on here:
