These versions will work with older versions of World of Warcraft

Changes for mists of pandaria

  • Fading in. All bars can fade in. Holy, shard, ember, eclipse, shadow, and chi bars also have fade-in for their objects.
  • Reverse Fade. Bar is half faded out, now it wants to become visible again, it will start fading in from where the fade out left off. The reverse fade option turns this off incase you don't like it.
  • Reverse Fill. Don't like left to right or bottom to top fill. Then reverse fill is the opposite. Ember, and Demonic bar support this in texture and box mode.
  • Enable bars. Found under Bars as the first option. Bars that are not enabled will not appear in the options screen or on screen, and won't consume cpu.
  • Hide not Usable. Any bar that uses this is on by default. When a bar can not be used by your class or spec. It will be hidden even when bars are unlocked.
  • Hide in Pet Battle. Hides the bar if you're in a pet battle.
  • Druid or Monk Mana bar. This used to be call Main Power. This gets displayed when the mana bar is not available. You'll have to reconfigure this bar going from old version to new.
  • CPU usage reduced quite a bit.

New bars.

  • DemonicBar and EmberBar for warlocks.
  • Shadow orbs for shadow priests.
  • Chibar for monks.

Please post any feedback in the comments section below.

Libsharedmedia 3.0 supported

Features

  • Priority flag system. Each bar has a status flag to tell when to hide, show, etc.
  • All bars can be fully customized to how you want them to look.
  • All bars can be rotated. For health and power bars fill direction can be changed to match the rotation.
  • Profile options. By default profiles are per character, but can be shared among all characters.
  • Alignment tool allows bars to be lined up for perfection. Right click a bar when bars are not locked to activate the tool.
  • Some bars have a box mode. If you don't like the fancy texture look. You can use box mode which uses simple boxes.
  • Two textures 'GUB Bright Bar' and 'GUB Dark Bar' any mod that uses libsharedmedia will be able to use these.
  • All bars have frame strata. If you want a bar to appear above another add ons UI. This should help.
  • Bars can be copy pasted as a way to copy settings from one bar to the other. All health and power bars are compatible. But a copy paste between others bars may or may not work. Some of the copy paste will be greyed out if the two bars are not compatible.

Class Specific features

  • Power bar for hunters has predicted power for steady shot and cobra shot.
  • Eclipse bar has predicted power. Will show what state the eclipse power bar will be in while casting. Should work similar to balance power tracker.

Tips

  • Eclipse bar: When you have predicted power turned on. Some of the options mirror the normal options. These should override the normal options.
  • A lot of bars have borders these can be hidden. For example: In the shard bar when in box mode. There should be an option called 'background'.
In there you will see a pulldown called border. Select 'none' and the bar will have no visible border. You can do the same to bars that are not in box mode as well.

v129 is out. Nothing has changed from latest beta.

This addon is the best resource tracker I have seen in the years of experimenting with UI addons. It has allowed me to finally unload all the diverse class/spec specific trackers and just use one addon (at last!) for all my characters/specs (and I have way too many)!

Well, with just the one exception: there does not seem to be a bar to track an enhancement shaman's maelstrom stacks. I really would love to see this addition, if you can manage it.

    Thank you!

Until blizzard decides to make that a resource bar its unlikely i'll add it.  Its best to use a different mod to do that.

Glad you like the addon :)

Ah! I see. I didn't realize that was the limitation. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Well I think I may have found the bug where sometimes a bar doesn't hide when it should. What made this bug so hard to find was that in very rare situations, I would find a bar not hiding when it should.  But when i reloadui it would fix its self.  During my work for GUB in mists I stumbled upon a mistake in the status flag checking code.

This will be fixed I hope for mists.

I just installed r107 beta.  Exactly what I am looking for but one problem. None of the hide options seem to be doing anything.  I want to hide target when not active but it is always there.  Never show of course works but the other hide options do nothing.  Even when I kill something the "dead" values remain until I select another target.  Also focus health and power are always blank.  Any ideas?

  • #38

Well halfway through a dungeon the hide options started working.  I didn't restart or do anything else that I know of.

    Still no focus targets though.

Thanks and again I do love this addon and it's level of customization.

    You have lock bars checked?

I tested focus health/power working fine with hide.

Have you tested on other classes, what class are you using?

  • #37

I'll look into.  Not surprised I broke something.  I made many code changes.

    Thanks

  • #39

I looked into this and the flags are working.  Make sure always show is not checked, cause that will over ride any hide flags.  I tested hide when not active, hide when out of combat, both worked.

if its still not working, then send me your profile.  It should be located in

    World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<character name>\SavedVariables\GalvinUnitBars.lua

I have a suggestion, when new install have a test mode button so it doesnt need to not show every bar one by one at start. I want to say, have all hidden at start, get a test all button and let the options to show which bar you wanna show, since its a bit boring to have to click on every bar except for 1 or 2 you need. Thanks

I haven't read the forums here in a while.  But there is an option to turn off all the bars in one shot.  Then all you have to do is show the ones you want.  It be difficult to add a test mode and with mists coming I'll be focusing on the new bars for the different classes added.

Awesome addon man, have been looking for something like this for a long time, a lot better than most unit frames, with this, tidy plates and bartender there is no reason to look out of the center of the screen, making pvp experience a lot better. Keep up the good work!

Final release is out. Druid eclipse bar got good testing in my guild. No reports on the rune bar. So I made it final. The latest beta is no different than the final except for the version number.

A lot of these features added since the last release was cause of the feedback.

    Thank you

Hi, I just wanted to add my praise to those already here. I had thought this would be resource-heavy as it had so many bars and customization, judging from the pictures. I was so pleasantly surprised to find it was extremely fast in loading (just 0.1 sec, tested with Warmup) and is relatively low in CPU usage and growth as well, especially compared to the other hud addons I've tried.

I love the original features as well--being able to use SharedMedia for hud textures is awesome, as well as color them by class. These are great and I haven't found them in other huds.

Thank you for making this addon!

Incidentally, might there be a way to set the alpha for bars? Such as:
    a) being able to have bars just shown at 70% alpha; and/ or
    b) having conditional alphas for combat, targeting, etc.
