About GatherMate2

GatherMate2 is an addon to collect and track herbs, mines, fishing pools, gas clouds, archaelogy finds and treasures, and displays them on the world map and the mini map.

GatherMate will remember the location of every herb you pick or every ore you mine, so that you can easily find the positions of the herbs and mines again. Once you come into range of a recorded spot, GatherMate will show an icon representing the type of herb/ore/fish/etc. on your mini map, directly allowing you to decide if its worth checking out. Additionally, all spots are shown on the World Map, to ease navigation to certain types of nodes and making gathering more fun.

To give you a head start, GatherMate2 also offers a pre-filled data module, so you don't need to discover all herbs and mines yourself, but instead can just start gathering right away. Simply install GatherMate2_Data and hit a few buttons to import all the provided data, and you're good to go.

Using GatherMate2 is straight-forward.
After the installation, GatherMate2 is automatically active and collecting data.

You can configure which data should be shown on the World Map or MiniMap in the Configuration Dialog, which can be accessed either via the /gathermate slash command or be found in the Interface options in the WoW Menu.

    I'm wondering if there is a way to have an "on/off" button for the mini-map either as an ldb or mini-map button. I know it can be done through options but I was wondering if there was a quicker more accessible way to do it.

    You can make a hotkey for turning the minimap on/off, I have it set to ctrl+m

    one question- the gold tracking circle that appears on the minimap around your toons arrow, how do you turn it on and off?. atm sometimes its on and sometimes its it has a mind of its own...

    Is there an option to make the circles (that surround the yellow dots on minimap) thinner? It's hard for me to tell sometimes if there's a node there or not with how thick those circles are. Also it's an issue when there are many nodes in one place. I don't care if there's a million there, I just need it to turn into one circle if they are overlapping. If there's a way to do all this, great! I just need some help. Thank you!

    havent used this for some time today on a new realm i was skilling to get a toon up with mining.. worked fine then i reloged, and now when i play all cirkles on minimap move when i moe= the change location and then if i find a nofd the fixate on it. ex in wintergras around 34:12 i had 4 nods but they where all over the minimap now and when i move so do they.. irritating bug imo..

    Would it be possible to get a HUD for gathermate2? The addon Archy uses this and as I've understood that is just a plugin (or whatever it should be called) for Gathermate2. When farming it would be awesome to just stare at the centre of the screen and still see all the incoming nodes.

    are you kidding me. skinning? you know where the beast to skin are and since they move around how are you going to make a program for something like that. its an addon. appreciate what you have. thank you gather 2 for your contribution. your greatly appreciated

    I'd assume that it would be possible to outline an area where skinnable mobs are, and show what types of stuff they generally skin to. That's not that much different from how Blizzard (or questing addons) outline an area where you can find mobs you need to kill for a given quest. The point is, people *don't* always know where the mobs they want to skin are. It involves going to wowhead and looking it up. That being said, this would be a lot more work than simply tracking nodes, and I can see why it hasn't been tackled. But as a skinner, I can also see why there's a demand for it. I mean, the point of many addons is to alleviate the need to go to a source outside the game for data. The same argument could be made that you could simply look up nodes on wowhead and bypass this addon.

    Ok. So we got nodes for arch, herb, mining, fishing and treasure. Can we not figure out a way to get something for skinning? Its annoying to have to min. wow to look at skinning guides and trying to memorize the curvy little line. Reason i post this here. i love gathermate2. Maybe some kind of overlay for your main map that shades prime skinning areas in zones? kind of like carbonite's map shading for quests? Then simply give a MSBT or floating text + chat message and a sound informing you you're entering a prime skinning zone for say 110-150 skinning?

    Dunno. some basic thoughts. but it would be pretty beast mode and convient if this can be made possible.

    Make a Hunter. Get him to 85. Use Track Beasts. Skin 'till you're blue in the face.
