About Geist

Geist provides a twenty-five button action bar that displays under the mouse cursor at a keypress for quick and convenient access.

How to use: Bind a key to Geist using the keybinding interface in the menu. Geist will display whenever that key is pressed with the mouse over the center button.

The most recent version of Geist has native Masque support. A separate to enable the feature is no longer required.

Geist won't work with ElvUi and I can't seem to find a way to get it to work.

Using Giest along with ElvUI, MAsque/ButtonFacade and currently the buttons for Geist are all blacked out. I'm only able to see stack amounts and not actualy icons. Tried disabling Masque/ButtonFacade with no success.

I believe the problem is the fact that Geist uses the default action buttons. Both ElvUI and Masque are attempting to skin them, resulting in the black squares.

I would recommend going into Masque's options and disabling skinning of Geist. Following a reload, this caused the buttons to display with the default ElvUI skin.

LOVE Geist - one of my top 10 favorites, and one I cannot live without.

For some reason (just on my DK) Geist is using the buttons from Bars 1 & 9 (instead of 9 & 10 like normal). So when I drop an icon in Geist, it shows up on my main bar.

I just need Geist to use Bar 10, not Bar 1 - is this something I do from within Geist, or is this a Bartender4 issue?
  • #201
It's more than likely a little bit of both actually. Geist uses the default action IDs based on how Blizzard has them setup for their bars. If I remember right, the Bartender bars don't always match up with the Blizzard ones. Bar one for Bartender may not be the same as Blizzard's bar one.

All that said, you can change the buttons that Geist is using. There is a command to so from within Geist. You can also edit the SavedVariables file for your DK for Geist which tends to be a lot quicker if you're familiar with the process.

Thanks for the reply, Cidrei. I was able to fix it by editing the SavedVariables file. It took about 60 seconds - just had to know where to look.

Thanks again for producing and maintaining such a great mod!

im having a problom with finding this after installing this with curse cliant plz help

Care to be more specific than that? Finding it in what context?

I seem to be having trouble with this mod - When I open it, it uses the icons already showing on my screen [a smattering of icons from the right bar and bottom bar that are available by Blizzard in the interface menu]. However, this only occurs on one character - my druid. I figure it has something to do with how the default bars work with shapeshifting, is there any way to fix this?
  • #197
You can reassign the keys that Geist uses through the assign command. You can look at the commands by typing /geist in game or looking at commands.txt in the addon folder. Druids are one of those cases where I had to fudge it with the bars to try and find something that worked.

Can't you bind keys to the button anymore?
  • #193
Keybinds are in the default bindings menu.
  • #194
And where is that exactly. I cant find any menu other than /geist and all I get are some bs options. No real physical menu if there is supposed to be any at all. Please let me know how this works. Its pissing me off i've been doing this for about an hour now.

Bindings. Addons tend to be near the bottom in sort of alphabetical order.

Wonderful addon. I use it for all my non-combat buttons (food, buffs, profession, so on). But, because of this, I don't really need the buttons to change when I change specs. Would you be willing (when you have time) to add an option to turn be able to turn that functionality off?

    Thank you!
