About GridStatusHealthFade

GridStatusHealthFade adds a status to the Grid unit frame add-on that changes color based on units' health.  (Originally written by North101)

The status can be configured with two colors to blend from max health to no health.  By default, the color will fade from green at max health to bright red at low health.

  • 4.3.0.2: Significantly improved responsiveness of health values.
  • 4.3.0.1: Bumped TOC for 4.3.
  • 4.2.0.1: Bumped TOC for 4.2.
  • 4.1.0.1: Bumped TOC for 4.1.
  • 4.0.0.2: No longer removes the health color in special cases.  Dead units now show 0%, and units with unknown health show 100%.
  • 4.0.0.1: Updated to Ace3 for compatibility with Grid r1360-alpha.
  • 3.3.5.1: Removed a leftover global reference to GridRoster.
  • 3.3.0.2: Removed global reference to GridStatus for compatibility with Grid 1.30300.1290.
  • 3.3.0.1: Bumped TOC for 3.3.
  • 3.2.0.1: Bumped TOC for 3.2.
  • 3.0.8.1: Initial release.

Nevermind, even though the above picture is outdated, I was able to get it to work. lol

What's going on with this addon and Grid in general? I prefer Grid over Grid 2, but obviously the newest version isn't that outdated and I can't get Health Fade and other options working, The new setup version looks nothing like the posted picture.

got this working now, almost perfect thanks for the help
    one more question
for some reason some of the bars go black and im not sure why, they eventually turn back to the green bar, but this is annoying as I cant see how much health the target has, I know that this black ins't out of range marker because of the bars that fade slightly when out of range,
could you shed some light on this? and maybe how to fix this?
    cheers

Alright, version 4.0.0.2 should show dead players with 0% health and offline players with 100% health. Options are the same; I didn't need to add anything.
  • #10
Dead players and players with unknown health (offline, etc.) lose health coloring until their health values are known. I'll see about adding some options to keep it from going black.

tryed to set this up having no luck, for some reason my grid looks nothing like that :/

There's a link to an image in my comment below that shows steps for how to make it look like that. I took the screenshots with an older version of Grid, so your menus might look a little different. Hopefully everything's still in the same place though.

I'll just add that picture to this page, now that you mention it. ;)

    thanks

Oops, I hadn't noticed how much the menus changed recently. I've uploaded a new picture with the correct locations.

followed the guide exactly, still isn't working :P
im getting the percentage but the colour of my bars are still the same :/

Health Bar Color is turned off, since it seems like something is overriding it.

It doesn't work for my grid, latest version i use: 1.30300.1308
The % works fine. But nothing with the colors fade. Do i have to setup something more?

Have you assigned the Health Fade status to your Health Bar Color indicator? If you don't have a "Health Bar Color" indicator, here's a step by step picture walk-through I made a while ago that shows how to enable it:

(Ignore the part in step 2 that says "Check both"; Center Text 2 isn't required.)
