About GridStatusPriestAoe

Grid status module to help priests decide the target for their area heals.

Features

  • Finds the best target for Circle of Healing and Prayer of Healing, based on the estimated total heal, and sets a status on it if the estimated heal is over a configured threshold
  • Supports text (estimated heal), icon (spell icon) and standard indicators
  • Supports GridStatusEmphasize

Limitations

  • It won't work on zones without a map
  • Base heal values are only calculated based on the rank of the spells at level 85

I've noticed sometimes when in a 10 man raid, that this addon will show 2 players from group 2 as the best people to heal.

I didn't think that was how this mod worked? I assumed it would show me the best person for each group to heal?

When there's large AoE going out, I will need to heal group 1, I don't mind how inefficient it is compared with healing group 2, I just want to know who's best to heal for each group. Not 2 people in 1 group.

Is there any chance of a tickbox setting to exclusively show only one person (and always at least one person) from each group?

Your raid-roster is probably configured at sorting the raid members by class. That way the groups get mixed up.

Ya Thats what ive been trying to figure out :D

Is there any possibility to make this addon work on bosses like Nefarian/Majordomo/Ragnaros. I assume if DBM is showing exactly position of every member around given in some yards, getting palyer coordinates shouldnt be an issue here. I think it is LibMapData fail probably.
  • #38
My best guess would be (as you suggest) that LibMapData is lacking the data for these floors.

You can try installing LibMapData separately as that would guarantee that you have the most recent version of the library.

Does this work by knowing if people are in range of your target for CoH and PoH?

For instance, group 1 and 2 are both at 50% health so I want to PoH those 2 groups. Group 1 is scattered and none of them are within 30 yards of each other and group 2 is bunched up.

Does the addon just look at Grid and decide which group would be healed the most (in this case both groups would seem to have the same total healing output since they are at the same health but really using PoH on group 2 would be the only right choice) or does it calculate how many people it will/can hit in each group when showing you which group to heal?

Tried to describe this as well as I could.
  • #37
Well ye thats what this addon does. You can even see how much players in range of most pofitable target and for how much you could heal with PoH by casting on him.

To make it work, insert the new LibMapData-1.0 into your GridStatusPriestAoe. You can DL the newest LibMapData from
    http://www.wowace.com/addons/libmapdata-1-0/

No need to copy it, just install LibMapData as an addon and GridStatusPriestAoe will use that version instead.

    Doesn't work with 4.2 atm
  • #31
Agreed, spamming Lib error. I can't believe how dependent I am on this add-on! Must update! ;-)

If it is that important to you, make sure you donate.
I did, recently found this addon and I think it is great.
PoH is the last dumb AOE heal in the game and this add-on helps maximize our use of blizz's ineptitude.

yeah, getting spammed with a lib error in chat.
  • #26
In case anyone missed the changelog notes, the 1.1b version is only a library update to support the new maps. The problem where it sometimes doesn't work seems to be a blizzard's bug and there isn't much that can be done about it. It seems an unintended change however, so I expect they will fix in a future patch.

Thank you for the speedy responses! Hope things get fixed soon on bliz's end :D
