About HandyNotes_Carbonite

HandyNotes_Carbonite is a small addon to allow HandyNotes (and all compatible addons) to be displayed in Carbonite :)

There are no options currently although I am open to idea's for options you want to configure. I have thought for a start I will add:

  • Icon size
  • How far out (map zoom) the icons will remain visible

Any other options or suggestions then please feel free to add a ticket here! (I have already added a ticket for the above options menu here)

features before pulling them into this addon.

@Broesel01: Please don't post error reports here. It is pointless. There is a ticket system for that and it makes it harder to see the msg I posted saying that I am no longer maintaining any of my addons as I don't play any more. Feel free to take over this addon and fix that issue if you can. :)

no longer seems to be working correctly.  Nothing at all shows on Timeless Isle and most other icons only show about 50% of the time.  I might be interested in taking over this project, but have yet to dig into the Carbonite api...so of course it would be a learning curve issue.  If there is still interest out there for using this addon please let me know and I'll see what I can do to make it come together.

    @Chrome

Theres a big interest since Handy Notes simply do now ork with Carbonite and as far as I know there is no other comparable Addon out there.

Sorry I haven't played WoW since just before the Panda one was released and don't intend to start BUT I am willing to pass any of my addons off to another developer who wants to take them over. They are all fairly well commented so the learning curve shouldn't be too bad (bar Carbonite) which is/was next to imposible to read due to the code originally being closed source and clever encription like techniques used. BUT it isn't imposible and I have comments in my code to tell you what functions did when I last used them. :)

If anyone want to take over this (Chrome67 maybe?) or any of my addons msg me. :)

Definately a bit buggy, but would definately keep an eye on for further development.

I would very much like to introduce you to Rythal; whom is the current Carbonite programmer

    ATM Noted issues

    1) I can not add notes

    2) notes from other addons and Losta nd foud disappear when mouse over map

    3) Icon/notes blink badly

    4) as you have implimented....would like to see areas outside mini map area, ie. on a world scale

    5) may need to find a ay to integrate into Carbonite current Note system

This is a great start, please do not abandon this, and speak with Rythal at Carbonite Forums....he will listen and may welcome your help and assistance

    Hi Siseihra,

Thanks for your input. I am afraid I have quite WoW Cry as it was consuming all of my time and that real life thing was getting demanding! Wink

I am open to handing this (or any of my addons) over to anyone who is interested in further development or even just maintaining them againsed WoW changes.

When I first created it it worked well but that was a long time ago and I haven't used WoW since some time before Pandoria was released so it's likely that.

If you wanted to talk to Rythal about intergrating it I would have thought it wouldn't be that hard (from what I can remember!) and I was carefull to fully comment my code to make it easy to understand. The only part that would be hard would be understanding the Carbonite code (which clearly wouldn't be an issue for Rythal! LOL). So I give you my permission to take control of the project. I will even add you to the project so you can shut it down once it's intergrated to prevent issues with compatability. Laughing

    Regards,

    Zas
