About Inner Peace

[Update 1.2 Beta]
A completely re-worked version of this mod is incoming and has the ability for many more spells than before including lots of spells for other classes. Hope you enjoy it :)

Note: You can enable and disable spells that are checked by typing /inp menu and editing the Chosen Buffs List

I was annoyed with having to remember to re-buff my Inner Fire so created this quickly. I then refined it to also work with paladin buff for a friend and decided to release it to anyone else who wanted it.

The mod puts up an icon and/or text reminding you to rebuff =]

1.11 Fixed for Cataclysm

1.10 Fixed spam, sorry left debug code in and don't play wow any more so couldn't test. My bad!

1.09 Updated version number

1.08 Renamed folder (to Inner_Peace so please remove InnerPeace in your addon folder) Updated Interface Number Added French and German localisation

1.07 Changed Interface Number.. Whoops!

1.06 Changed the combat detection so that it now shows once your regen has stopped.

1.05 Added 'Only show in battle' option

"Note: You can enable and disable spells that are checked by typing /inp menu and editing the Chosen Buffs List"

I'm not seeing a Chosen Buffs List in the menu that pops up from /inp menu.

A problem that has persisted since you changed the options to reside in the Blizzard options panel up to the current 1.31: they are flaky & need work.

For example, start with "Show Only in Battle". Uncheck to disable the options. The text & icon frames come up onscreen. But...they are not blank. The icon is a skull and the "Rebuff Death Touch" text appears. And remain up until you a buff that it tracks expires and/or. Not a good thing.

When the "Hide Death Touch" option is checked (enabled), it does nothing to the text as it appears after doing the above.

And finally, checkmark "Play sound on missing buff", the Death Touch text & skull icon appear unexpectedly as in the first problem and do not go away until you rebuff.

^^ paragraph 2, end: "And remain up until a buff that it tracks expires and/or you rebuff."

    Hi,

I have a holy priest. I am using the addon, then I buff my innerfire and stamina. To that point all looks fine... but then it shows an icon and tell me I am missing Death Touch ... Death Touch is a GM spell I think... Is that something the addon is supposed to show up ? I am playing on the frFR version of the game.

Hey, you are right it is :). I added it so that when your moving the two windows that you have a spell which you can see rather than two empty boxes.

If you turn off moving windows it will disappear, however if your expecting that you should be able to move the windows all the time then I will add another option to hide this message for you :)

Just give me a shout either way :)

Should be fine then :) Make sense. If I may have a suggestion : what about having a sound playing when the buff fade ? It could be very helpfull. I use to play with innerfire helper and that was the best warning notification I could have. A sound is much more to get your attention than the icon or the text, specially on combat where we use lots of addons who are all bliking over :)

Just to let you know version 1.26 will have a sound alert, please give any feedback you have on it so I can improve :)
  • #22
Sure, I will look into that this evening :) the hardest part is picking the sound! ^^

This is simply ver very good :) you just made this addon a must have :) thanks also for having added a "hide death touch" option :)

A last think you can do : sort of list of different sound you could select from. But this is absolutly not necessary. just a nice to have :) I can see it is configurable on the UA file : PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Events\\Gruntling_horn_bb.Wav")

Thanks a lot for this addon and the good support you are putting in it

    Hi,

Just to let you know this has now been implemented and once I've tested it thoroughly I'll release it :) probably tonight!

The addition of various new spells classes in v1.21 is a great idea. However, the implementation of it right now isn't usable & needs work.

On an 80 Discipline Priest, buff Fortitude, Shadow Protection & Inner Fire, enter combat. The Inner Peace icon inappropriately comes up (with a text overlay) alerting that I'm missing Shadowform and remains up through the whole fight.

On another character I have that haven't tried the new mod version on yet--Mages--another problem seen in a brief look at the code. Mana Shield (spellID 1463) isn't appropriate to have up in most PvE occasions. And so on.

Back to v1.11 here; can't use v1.2/1.21 like this.

Hope you can add more discretion for when the icon comes up. With the Priest problem, commenting out/deleting the "Buff.create(SINGLE_BUFF,0,15473)," line in Inner_Peace.lua means you won't get the alert when you are in Shadowform. So a way of detecting what spec/what spells are available to a player in a particular spec would work.

Or far better, have an in-game selectable list for what to alert to and/or the ability to add or remove spells based on spellID (either of which would handle the Mage problem and everything else).

    Hey,

Thanks for the feedback. With regards to spells such as shadow form and mana shield I agree that these shouldn't be enabled by default. However there is currently a way to turn buffs on and off by typing /inp menu and editing the Chosen Buffs list.

The next version of Inner Peace should include some defaults which will turn off spells that might be annoying for some :)

Ah yes, didn't notice the new options in the Blizzard options panel. Was so used to that little popup box in v1.11 & prior that didn't realize you had given the options a complete overhaul.

Appreciate your further work on this.
