About Item Notes

This adds additional notes to an items tooltip, such as the vendor price and item level.

  • updated to use blizz api for item prices
  • toc update for 4.0
  • removed built in IDC

    Somebody needs to talk to somebody ... I've used this addon since I started playing WoW, but since it hadn't been updated in a couple years I thought I'd try the other ItemNotes. Now that there has been an update, I'd like to continue using this one as well - but both ItemNotes addons have the same directory name and (though I haven't looked at the code) possibly share some function names, which isn't gonna fly. Perhaps some friendly discussion between authors can resolve this conundrum.

    There aren't any function name conflictions, so it's safe to rename the folder and .toc file of one of them. However that will likely prevent it from updating with the Curse client. :( I'm not really sure.

    I tried Sellfish and its tooltip seems to overlap with the AuctioneerSuite addon. I swapped it out for Item Notes and it seems to work fine. Thanks for the addon!

    I take it back. The prices aren't updating. I visited a vendor and many items in my inventory still say 'unknown' for the sell price.

    I uploaded v104, it adds a lot of new items to the build in list, and also gets rid of the caching so you can see any updates in the same session now.

    lol... are you getting the message from IDC that they are updated? If so they are updated.... but the tooltip right now has cached the old price, the new prices will show up next time you log in though... also the prices bundled with the addon are not as complete as the latest version of IDC... goto the ItemDataCache addon and update that , and you will get a lot more Woltk prices.

    103 adds some code that should address the error Yeoman was getting.

    Update for a reported issue of being called from a mailbox add on to show an item tooltip with no item id being passed into us.


    Right now there are no options to change the color.

    I quite like this addon, great work :)

    Is there an option to change the textcolour? I find the purple a little too dark to see quickly.

    I had some issues getting the exp. pack to install so could not work on things much. I just uploaded a version that should stop this issue. It should appear soon. Please report errors in the ticket system though, not in comments.
